Preview Changes v WCE, Sunday 8 June, 320pm, Bunbury WA game (AFL+VFL bye week beforehand)

Now that the VFL team has played, and both the AFL and VFL teams have a bye next week, we basically have all the info we're going to have in terms of team selection for our next game.

For my money;

OUT: Fisher, McKercher, Konstanty
IN: Phillips, Ford, Harvey

So... I know people will challenge me about dropping McKercher. He was very good two weeks ago, and had a good first half against the Pies. But... 13 total disposals and back to 0 tackles in almost 80% TOG unfortunately not up to expectations. We got absolutely smashed in the midfield in the second half, and both the structure and personnel need changes. But we're not exactly about to drop LDU or Powell or Parker (even though I wouldn't be tremendously upset with any of those) so unfortunately this is a little bit of McKercher drawing the short straw.

Last week he had 10 tackles which was awesome. The week before he had 0. Last night he had 0. It seems like that 10 tackle performance was the abnormality, unfortunately.

The way I'd set the structure/line up for the game;

Interchange: Phillips/Powell/Daniel/McDonald
Sub: Harvey

Ford for Fisher, I don't think there'll be big changes. It was three quarters pretty good and one turgid, Clarko will excuse some with a week off.

Three players really put their hands up in the VFL (more were good, three are waving hard) but we'll probably take over one of them, Logue and RHJ plus ruck cover. If Harvey comes it might be Maley in more trouble than JK, he's been sub fodder.

Logue in for pink

Won't happen. For starters, Corr would be dropped before Pink.
But more importantly, Logue was absolutely out of gas the entire second half in the VFL today. He's still not even close to 'match fit'.

How has Griffin Logue lacked match fitness for the entire 2.5 years he's been on our list?

Agree with this except Daniel out instead of McKercher.

Just because the scoreboard said it was close at 3/4 time doesn’t mean we played 3/4 of footy. They had 11 scoring shots and dominated that 3rd quarter.

We kicked 2.2 to 3.8 in the 3rd quarter.

The performance was pathetic. Need to see more than 1 change

Logue in for pink
Ford in for lmac/corr I don’t care which one

And then reward cooper with the sub
Logue looked slow even in the VFL a pass for me need another month in the VFL.
The biggest shame is the VFL side 2nd bye within the first 10 rounds plus state game some clubs even haven’t had a bye the sooner they have AFL 2nds Competition the better.
Now I see we play our next game at F;cking Scumville against them.

I want the ins. Not sure about the outs. I don’t have any suggestions on that yet, other than corr out, don’t care if we don’t bring in another defender to replace him.
Thought fisher looked good when he came on in the last during our small push. Vanished like the rest of the team though. I think I like him as sub (better than Duurs and scotts anyway)

Agree mostly with your thoughts on Kerch but I’d give him another game against WC first. Pigged out last time we played them in that shitty loss last year.

JK has been ok without setting the world on fire. If we want to have a look at Harvey (and we bloody need to on current form) then I think JK out does make the most sense.

I don't think we drop JK for the return to WA. That would be pretty harsh.

Barely any tackles by our midfield. Zero for McKercher. Simpkin, our great inspirational leader who didn’t “want it” as much as Collingwood, with 4. What a captain.

Phillips does the 1%ers in the reserves week after week, tackles hard and does all the things a great teammate should but finds himself well down the pecking order behind guys like that.

50 tackles to 90 for the game. That’s deplorable. Our midfield is meant to be our strength. We’ve had first round picks for god knows how long, yet they bring effort like that? That’s disgraceful.

Yet we still refuse to set the standard at selection. It’s no wonder we are where we are.

Logue was improved but the vast majority of his touches came in the first half.

In the second half it was blatantly obvious at the ground how much he was struggling to run around. He had spent all his tickets in the first half and was out of gas for basically the entire second.

Just my opinion, but I reckon there's absolutely no way he gets a call up based on that VFL performance.
