Toby Pink is a weird hill to die on, even for Chad.

What will the media say if Collingwood lose to this second string Bulldogs team tonight??

I reckon the consternation is less about Pink personally and more the realisation that our first cab off the KPD rank is currently an SANFL-standard battler.
I'm just having some fun because people get upset about pre-game positivity
Those two (W Dawson and Whitlock) maybe a few years away from being the peak versions of themselves, but it won't be that long before they're ready to play at the level. We have two young KPDs in the pipeline that need a few years of development before they are ready (W Dawson and Whitlock) and we have two mid 20s state-league KPDs who were picked up as mature age depth should any of our starters get injured (Pink and K Dawson).
How many AFL teams have starting-calibre young talls just waiting in the wings? What's the consternation here?
Collingwood has recruited for immediate success, and now their first choice KPD of an unsuccessful young forward has done his knee they probably bring in a battler (admittedly one who played a role as a decoy forward in premiership team, but not a great defender).I reckon the consternation is less about Pink personally and more the realisation that our first cab off the KPD rank is currently an SANFL-standard battler.

My consternation if any is that the one good experienced KPD we have just cannot stay on the park and there is a gap before the next generation is ready, but you can’t expect to have AFL level tall backups sitting round the VFL.
Realistically, pink/dawsonx2/Whitlock all probably perform at the same level... uninspiring pick is pink, but can probably play on fritch or the younger talls, the other 3 probably only on the younger talls...We have two young KPDs in the pipeline that need a few years of development before they are ready (W Dawson and Whitlock) and we have two mid 20s state-league KPDs who were picked up as mature age depth should any of our starters get injured (Pink and K Dawson).

Hey hey let’s all not forget pink got the goals rolling for us last year with that toe poke in the forward line at marvel.
On pink, where has he been training this off season? Forward or back
While you're at it, you can comfortably apply that very same thinking to a handful of other senior players getting regular games.Personally I’m not disputing that Pink is more physically advanced than Dawson. That’s just not even worth debating given the age gap.
What I’m disputing is that we will get anymore from Pink in the 22 then we will Dawson. We will get SFA from Pink, we have the data to prove this. If we are going to get SFA from Pink, we may as well get SFA from Dawson, give him exposure to the level and guess what, there’s actually a possibility given his much higher ceiling that we may actually get more then just SFA.
Pink is a spud that is lucky to even be on a list still and won’t be in a few months timeYeah I’m not against playing Pink.
The decision should absolutely be who is better and more suitable right now. The club needs to win games. After the last five seasons and all the draft picks it’s the only thing that matters. It’s why we have brought in the likes of Parker and Darling, yeah sure their experience helps the younger players but ultimately it’s about being better right now and actually winning games of football.

It's so obvious.
I thought you liked Pink?Pink is a spud that is lucky to even be on a list still and won’t be in a few months time
We shouldn’t be wasting any games on him
So so so frustrated. The bulldogs looked good last night, still without said players. Maybe their depth is just elite? Regardless, makes our loss look better. So why am I frustrated??
It gives me hope... hope for tomorrow. And its the hope that kills you...
