Good point about a small forward needing ( excuse pun) to be dangerous in the airJake Neade is superfluous to any requirement I can think of.
Just another player that is better in the midfield and has less than a goal a game from a forward pocket because hes short so should play forward.
How about we promote an actual forward with some forward guile. Short does not equal evasive, and if you can't be a marking target you should not be in the forward half. Every single good small forward can be dangerous in the air. Jake Neade cannot, Sam Gray at least can have the odd leap.
Wingard Robbie and Monfries def are dangerous in the air
Shame about Jakey though because at his best he is everywhere in the F50 veritably stitching and connecting the forwards together. We have seen him with that bump vs Richmond , bring down ruckman in tackles etc
The guys got electricity and has popped up for 3 goals in games whilst contributing to others and has good D50 pressure
So it's a bit reliant on other personnel in the team
Just like this team defence thing ... we can only afford to have one who is not the best at it ( Robbie)
Similarly I suppose if we had another tall in ( Eddy or Doogs) then it may compute to have this dynamo in the side
but I agree we don't want him Brett Eberted ie setting him up as a KPF
But again I don't like too much criticism of Jakey as I think he is more a victim of coaching selections and other personnel in the F50 than lack of talent
