listening to boaks 5aa interview doesnt fill me with much confidence
Ugh goodbye hopes to play & develop a legitimate true 2nd tall forward, doesn't sound like Jacko will be thrown back even if we come up against GWS playing all 3 of Lobb, Patton & Cameron.

Also what the hell Trav "I don't think there'll be too much change as we've been pretty consistent up until that game" well when do you expect changes to happen when more than 3/4 of the team didn't fire a shot in a 70 point flogging against a middle of the road side?

Yeah but really, what do you expect him to say?
i actually agree with this, there isn't much else you can say these days. It's just how player and coach interviews go, they're boring, because if you say anything slightly off the script a massive deal will be made out of it. So they just recycle the same old cliche's time after time.

Look at Clarko, he got a $20k fine for simply saying it is not my job to comment on disgraceful umpiring decisions.

I love it how we've built a backline on how Hawthorn's has worked in recent years by being undersized, yet continually beat the Hawks by exploiting it, and still wonder why it happens to us.

It's like, we know how to beat Hawthorn, just use Dixon's height advantage. And we're also like, Hawthorn's defence has been great in the last few years, let's do that.

A LOSS to Essendon and a big win in the SANFL over West will open the door for Port Adelaide to make changes this week.

But Ken Hinkley might resist making wholesale changes to the Power line-up, stating his preference to trust the current line-up after the loss on Saturday.

Booooooooo
What happened Saturday was always on the cards . We have so many out of form players playing week in week out its crazy. There comes a time when backing your group has to go and changes are made. We have reached that point now.

Ken has shown he will 'back the team in'. This is one bad performance in 11, even if we have lost 5 games now. The really frustrating part of that loss is that we don't have the wiggle room to rest players and debut others that we would have had if we had won. But oh well.

So what do we need? Pace, more outside/HFF class and to maybe send a message to some senior players.

Who should be on the line? Hartlett, Broadbent, Westhoff, Ah Chee, Toumpas, Pittard, Impey.

Realistically, the only ones from the above few who might come out and Ah Chee and Toumpas. So how do Howard or Eddy fit in to a line up with Trengove, Dixon, Westhoff and Ryder? Does Young get asked to back it up after one of the best SANFL performances for some time? Who on our list can provide pace and class? Strange to think that we really miss Amon and that the injuries to him, Monfries and AJ along with the decline of White have all managed to come at a terrible time. Do we upset a back six who has been the most frugal in the league? Is it worthwhile getting Atley or Drew to play the role of Ah Chee/S.Gray/Boak/Toumpas when both are midfielders and we have criticised the positioning of these four players because they are midfielders being played out of position?

Let's face it, we drafted hard for midfielders last year and the midfield has decided to stand up. We have been light on for outside class and a true small forward for several years now and these areas remain concerns. Is shuffling S.Gray for Neade going to achieve much? Do we have an outside mid capable of supporting Polec?

I would love for a statement to be made and for Pittard, Hartlett and Westhoff to be playing for the magpies whilst Doogs and some others get a run. Ain't going to happen though!

I think in the end we'll all be reasonably happy this week so long as Dougal is on the ins list.

I would love him to come in. He is such a talent and has the potential to finally be that Port developed key forward. He has gotten fit faster than I thought he would post ACL repair and would replace Trengove nicely as a forward/ruck.

But who does he come in for? Realistically are we going to drop Dixon/Ryder/Westhoff/Trengove or Clurey/Jones to make way for Trengove in the backline?

I fear we might be disappointed!

I fear after reading all this Port Bigfooty will melt come Thursday. If no statement is made none ever will. If that happens and we lose it will be the 'End of Ken'

This trust shit pisses me off. I think it was tribey that said this group has a semi final win over Freo and a 3 point loss in a prelim 3 years ago as their track record. We're not talking about premiership heroes, whatever trust was built in 2014 has long since evaporated.

Also, I don't think lack of height in defence was a big an issue as it is being made out to be. Don't get me wrong, I'm an advocate for Trengove to move back, Howard to play forward and for Clurey, Jonas and Hombsch to stay in making us noticeably taller down back. At this point I reckon we're better off with Broadbent playing Hartlett's +1 role, Hombsch playing Broadbent's role, and Hartlett playing in the Magpies.

I see Young for Toumpas. Wholesale changes because of one game wont happen. Hartlett and Impey has good games the week before and knee jerk reactions isn't how selection is done. I get the feeling that Dougle will come into the side only on a like for like situation. Dropping a midfielder seems unlikely. We have actually had a good year. The flair just wasn't there against essendon, so they had the momentum for a large part of the game. They controlled what happened. Some fingers need to be pulled out, not mass droppings of players. In a comp with a fixed list, this just cant happen. What do you do if the same shit happens in consecutive weeks. Decisions are made when you finalise the list, so your stuck with it for the season.

Dougal wont play going by Hinkley's segment with AArghhh

Ken chatting to Kane and The Other Guy on AA right now.

May as well melt now.

Get the heck out Ken.

You're drunk.

Looking at our draw I expect us to get past Brisbane but there's every chance we could go on a 3 game losing run against Rich, Coll & WC.
I think we won't see the real changes made until then.
