not sure there is going to be wholesale changes to the team this week as Ken will want to keep a sense of calm over the club. Going by his press conferences, he is happy with the amount of times we are getting our hands on the ball, just not executing the way we all want.

I am sensing that apart from the forced changes of Matty White going out and Jacko coming in, I'm thinking that O'Shea will get the nod before Moore or Ah Chee unfortunately. He has said many times that he trusts his players, and we'd won two on the trott, so I think he'll give Young another week.

If you had asked me straight after the Geelong game how many touches Sam Gray had I would probably have answered about 4. I only really notice the ones that players do something with, when a player gets a kick and it just goes in the general correct direction or maybe not at all I tend not to notice it. At least when Kane Mitchell gets a kick you see it go somewhere, and his pace and strength are a lot more suited to the AFL than Sam Gray's.

I had no idea paul stewart was even playing.
Yeah at least Gray ad one shot on goal and was in the general vicinity of play (though not generally involved in it), I think I remember seeing Stewart once on the Western wing about ten metres from the play. Seriously invisible for someone his size. That power to not be seen he shouldn't waste in football and should go tackle some super villains.

Did I read somewhere that Ken said in a press conference yesterday that O’Shea and Pittard may have to play further up on the wings to replace White and Polec because of their speed?

shit been thinking about something like this for a long time, other then Pittards run off half back, what characteristics does he have as a dominant backman? his sideways movement often leads him to slip over, he's not a dominant spoiler or marker, when he stops and props it often leads him to over thinking the situation and either coughing up the ball , creating a hospital ball or trying too much and getting done over, while Jasper is good I think having him so deep in defence with his **** ups always costs goals.

Surely a two sided Cam O'Shea, Nathan Krakouer or even Paul Stewart could play his half-back line role? and freeing Jasper Pittard to a wing to use his pace and long penetrating leg where he can run straight and not have to think or worry about his one sided left leg, plus if he ***** it up he's outside the oppositions scoring zone.

The way we set up now we are stagnant and predictable , seasons almost gone it's time to mix things up and hope to get things back on track.

I saw him cramp on the eastern wing. That was literally his contribution.

If Monfries goes to Simpson with the intent of playing a stoping role that to me is a win for Carlton. We are saying Gus can't kick goals on this guy so we are going to stop him setting up play. Might sound old fashion but to me forwards kick goals and defenders have to stop them kicking goals. We are turning a simple game into B.S and getting our pants pulled down at the same time.
Its not exactly a new role for Monfries. He's done it for a few years for us.

Not a stopping role. But will keep simpson accountable as well as getting him off his game

in the mix has oshea in to

" it could open the door for Cam O'Shea, who has been in stellar form in the SANFL."

So O'Shea's "been in stellar form" on the back of one game, while Moore "got a bit of his mojo back on the weekend" when he's actually been on fire for the past month. I've pretty much lost complete faith in the match committee's ability to pick the right team.

Do you get the feeling Moore has already been traded? My money is on Richmond.

Not sure he'd get a start every week in Richmond's midfield. If he gets named and does OK this week Carlton might have a sniff. Then we package their second rounder and our first off to Essendon for Carlisle. Joking, joking...
