not a fan of the Neade but I believe if he can manage 6-8 tackles inside our fwd half get 12-16 touches a game and isn't getting in the way of Charlie that's all we need from him!

Also it's not doom yet we haven't played and we should be feeling somewhat happy about tonight because the mob from west lakes just took a loss

I have no real problem with Neade being picked if his SANFL form is good.

I do have a problem with Neade being selected into a side that is already carrying Impey, Sam Gray and Young. And I mean carrying. Impey and Young have been garbage all season. Our forward line relies on too few to do too much.

We can't carry three 12 possession, 1 goal a game small forwards in the one team. Gray at least provides some linkman work and he's the first of the 4 i'd select. I'd only pick 1 of Neade, Young and Impey. You can't pick all 3.

I just don't get the thinking behind it. Sacrificing just one of these guys for an Eddy or Howard gives us a much more balanced and dangerous forward line at a relatively small cost.

Then what use would our smalls be if the talls mark the ball all the time!?

We were never going to make wholesale changes after we just won by 8 goals.

You could probably count on one hand the number of unforced changes we've made after wins in Hinkley's entire coaching reign. I can't believe anyone is even moderately surprised or disappointed. Move on and we'll see how we go this weekend.

Our team balance is a mess.

Hartlett is a sub-par midfielder playing sub-par across half back. It actually astounds me he is still in the side.

Trengove is a defender playing sub-par as a forward and on occasions we are caught out short in defense but we don't play him there, go figure. Playing no better than what Howard showed last year.

Young, S. Gray and Impey to a lesser extent are not forwards (along with Trengove) yet they make up the bulk of our forward line. All playing various levels of sub-par for most of the season. I understand their strength is supposed to be their defensive pressure but even that has been sorely lacking lately. They don't hurt sides enough offensively and because they're not out and out forwards, scoring is just that little bit harder for us.

Robbie Gray is a handy forward who is a much better midfielder, who is clearly injured or totally cooked. I love him, I really do but he's had me scratching my head all season. Is this the beginning of the end for Robbie?

Boak is fading fast and has been pushed out of the first choice midfield and seems to be a bit lost as a result. He's not a lost cause yet but the signs are worrying.

Westhoff's role baffles me a bit. The guy is a forward, always has been, always will be. Sure, he has added value in dropping him back from time to time but if he's not doing that he should play forward. If anyone can tell me why he is better suited to his current role as opposed to being a second option to Dixon, I'm all ears.

We have the cattle, it's just being used wrong imo.

That seems to a well agreeed thought from all I speak too. But Ken persists on not improving it just hoping it will come good. Frustrating as all hell. Eddy must be wondering what's the point.
