Really wanted Lecras back. I say that becuase if we could manufacture a shootout, as we did with the Crows 2 weeks ago, I don't think Essendon would have the goalkicking power to match us.
Maginness to take Ellis' spot. 2nd choice Colledge. If we pick Smith I'll punch something.
Watson will be a huge danger. Think he might struggle second week back but this week he'll be playing on adreniline (or possibly some other injectible substance).

If there was any week I would put my house on an Eagles win away from home it would be this week? 40+ easily, maybe even a 60 point win.

Literally who will kick goals for them?

Both Adelaide & Collingwood supporters have said that about us in the last week or two, but as we have seen, clean disposal and fast ball movement can make up for any deficiencies in a forward line.

Thats why Simpson has been focusing so much on the contested ball. If we win that, we have the outside runners that can hurt with time and space. If Essendon win it, then we have some issues. Heppell, Zaharakis & Goddard can take the game very quickly away from us if we arent careful. Throw in bursts from Watson & Chappy & they can be more than capable of getting the ball i50 enough to kick a winning score.

I dont think there will be much more than 3 goals in it, either way, FWIW.

Sounds like Tunbridge is in. Surely Smith isn't getting a game and is the travelling emergency.

You disagree? I'm only speaking from a previous supercoach owners perspective here. Last year he would get 120DT and 89SC, used to kill me!

I know he's improved out of sight this year though.

If fit he would be a certainty.

What on earth still makes you say that?

He's not best 22 anymore. Obviously Nicnat is number 1, and Lycett overtook Cox's output a long time ago.

Just because we actually got away with and put together a dominant win with 3 rucks... doesn't mean you can ignore every other disastrous attempt we've made with that strategy in the past. Simmo said it himself in his interview, that was the first time the 3 rucks has worked all year.

That success rate doesn't give me confidence if we were going into finals.

Essendon were the first team to try this three ruck setup with massive fail. They had Hill / Ryder / Belcho.

Lycett was basically used a a permanent forward last week until the game was over and then he was thrown into the ruck so i assume that will be the same this week. I don't think he is an AFL quality forward that can be consistently good yet but i guess it will be trotted out until it fails again. If we lose i would think NN rests next week (may do anyway even if we win, its only the dees) and then cox won't travel rd 23

yeah, it's still not the strongest part of his game, but his kicking has improved. But he has just become so damaging inside that it's even less of an issue

One person who probably hasn't received as much praise as he should because it was such a huge win is Cripps.

I'm not really a fan of Cripps but i thought his work against the ferals was first class. Lots of chasing, and he was surprisingly unselfish.

His best game in a long time. thorne89 should be proud

Ash Smith & Tunners have both travelled apparently...

Has the 3 ruckman policy failed in the past because of the absolute crap supply and Naitanui being out of form/immobile?

Now we see our midfield winning the contested ball, but also moving it fast through the corridor and kicking it lace out to leading forwards + Naitanui is moving and playing very well.

Could it keep working and be our dangerous point of difference come finals?

Hopefully Tunbridge is in for Ellis.

We could still drop a tall, maybe Brown (depending on his ankle) and play McGovern down back and Lycett up forward more permanently.

Does Tunbridge have a defensive side to his game?
