But seriously, if Ken is saying Frampton isn’t ready, and neither are Hayes or Ladhams what does this say about our list management?

Let’s just continue to get smashed in the ruck every week...

Out: McKenzie, Houston
In: SPP, Pittard

This is what it should be to be honest. No need for drastic change. Rockliff literally will come good, carried an injury today but should to be good to go. Marshall is a tough boy and will get all good but if not then in Thomas

He literally is taking our best defender and/or forward in Dougal and Dixon out of their respective positions to do an average to poor job in ruck. It makes no sense, bring in one of the kids in and yeah they will do an average to poor job but at least we will have our best key position players playing their correct position.

How an AFL coach can not understand that is mind boggling

Before the game on MMM Ken said "you can do them more harm than good when you play them too early sometimes"

I dont understand how it's too early? Dougal was rucking and they're from the same draft.
Yes we know Ken - see Janet, Dr Scott, Janet, Brad,...................................................................... ....................................................................Rocky

Do any of you actually watch the Maggies? Pittard in would damage us even more. Leave Houston in to gain his mojo back. I can't believe DBJ hasn't got anyone howling ! Moved forward to get him out of harms way. He's been awful this year. Leave Bonner, Houston and Amon. Drop DBJ and Rocky. That's it. Bring in Leinert/Toump and SPP.

If Frampton isn’t even considered to be good enough in times of drastic need, like now, then the question has to be asked as to why the hell hes still on the list.

Because he's a ruckman/forward, which they tend to require longer development. Plus by all reports he was tracking reasonably well last year.

Hes in his 4th year though. Still gets beaten pretty regularly in the ruck at SANFL level, and other than a whole lot of mongrel i’m Not sure what he even brings to the table. It’s no wonder he isn’t being considered for selection, I don’t even think he should be on the list.

Pretty sure I said the same thing about Clurey two years ago though so he can still prove me wrong. Not being selected with Ryder out can’t be good for his confidence though.

Pittard, SPP, Frampton (only if Marshall ruled out).
Amon, Rockliff, Marshall (if concussion).

With Doogs timesharing in ruck we need Pittard as interceptor more than we need Amon as a runner.

Against the Cats we need that balance fixed more than we need a not like-for-like Hombsch filling in for Doog’s defensive role for example. That would just slow us down unless there was a specific gorilla sized matchup.

Frampton “only if Marshall concussed” ... one part letting Doogs stay back more (but Pittard in theory helps mitigate that), one part offering a tall forward option but not changing overall structure.

Tempted by Snelling’s sheer tackling numbers or Atley because shiny new big bodied toy, for playing to a losing ruck contest, but not sure who I’d drop for either. You can only play so many pure inside mids. It’s funny that few mention Snelling despite what read like consistent good raw numbers so far this year. What’s the knock, disposal eff. for his role? Do his tackles actually *stick*, at his size, compared to what Atley has been delivering?

No point risking wrecking a slightly-injured Rocky. Let’s rely on SPP’s deservedly bruised ego instead.

Who plays right wing if we drop Amon?

Polec, like he did in round one. It forced him to have to cut back into the centre corridor to use his left. It actually worked beautifully and straightened us up.

Inverted wingers.

Dropped: one man on three tactic, manic kick out of defence, all men running forward leaving no-one at the back, slow handballs allowing opposition pressure, tackling man but allowing him to stand up in the tackle and release the ball
In : kicks well away from opposition, retention of possession till an option presents itself, no dinky little kicks or handballs that can be run down, accurate goalkicking, taking a mark before running off, running into space when a teammate has the ball, desire to get the ball, awareness, preference to get the ball to a free player rather than go back in traffic to a player on the back foot.

Also playing an All-Australian dual best and fairest player in the SANFL would be utterly pointless. If Rocky’s body isn’t up to it, give him some time off to rest up for a few weeks. He’d gain more from that than he would from playing in front of three men and a dog at Noarlunga.
100% disagree. He needs to find form and he has no right to find it in the 1s. He is very slow atm and doesnt see much of the ball. No player is above playing for the Magpies. Not even our captain. Its about time we demonstrated that this club actually does have some standards re performance. Otherwise we will continue to get the same crap currently being served up. Yes we are 3-1 atm but all 4 starts have been garbage and players are playing well below their potential. Ebert is playing like a hack, Boak not much better. What happened to these players. We were supposed to build a team around them but they are very average players.

Because he was starting to look the goods last year but has not improved at all since then.

Same preview as last week.

No Ryder (or at least a competitive ruckman).

No Port.
Yep, after being burnt this week i refuse to tip Port until we get Ryder back.

McKenzie had more rebound 50s than Riley Bonner or Hamish Hartlett.

I reckon Bonner spent a fair amount of time further up the ground yesterday.
