Yeah, I like his upside more than DBJ though. Hartlett might be a more logical straight swap for Houston but I'm not sold on having both DBJ and Jasper in the back 6.

He does IMO.

He breaks lines at every opportunity he gets takes the game on when he sees an opportunity. Probably needs to make better decisions and clean up his disposals.

He is not that far off it, you can see him improving by next year it will be there.

I think it's time to sacrifice our backline to help our forward line. Trengove can always help out back there if really needed. You g goes out for obvious reasons. I also don't think we need all of Ah Chee, SPP, Wines and Ebert in the side.

I want monfries in for young at the very least. Young is nowhere near his 2016 form. Hartlett can go too IMO doesn't impact enough in a game. We still have one too many back flankers in the team also. I would bring eddy back in for his place in the team.

When i was a kid my wish list was never fulfilled, so i don't expect Ken will be my new santa.

After today's game I retract my call for Houston, he was very average. Bonner or even Toumpas would be more deserving.

On the flipside, I strongly renew my calls for Monfries and Eddy. Behind Dixon and Robbie they're the next two best forwards on our list.

I think Neade should come in for young. Young has not been kicking goals and his defensive work in games against the better oppositions has been really bad. Neade 11 tackles today

If not Neade maybe give Monfries a go.

I'd love to see both Monfries and Eddy come in but if it was just one I'd pick Eddy, more a different role to R Gray and S Gray up forward, also selfishly for fantasy purposes.

Ken wasn't prepared to make tough calls on players last year when the team wasn't travelling as well. So I'm not expecting much this week.

Prove me wrong Ken.

PS - I'm not counting Lobbe as a tough call this year. As obvious a selection decision as it gets

Monfries and Eddy are natural forwards, which is better than the make believe forward line we have now of defenders and midfielders. Our core midfielders are overworked because we play other midfielders forward instead of forwards.
I'd bring them in, and actually leave them in the forward line for large parts of the game. Eddy kicked 5 against the Hawks in the preseason so he'd at least have some confidence against them.
Outs would be Young and one of Hartlett or Pittard. Trengove can go back on Vickery and follow him when hes chopping out in the ruck.

Hard to know. His kicking efficiency was down today. I'm sure he will improve and eventually get back into the team

I think Eddy is an upgrade as much as i think Butch wasn't given every chance to prove himself. Eddy has kicked well for goal and has done so consistently at SANL level. I think Ken thinks Eddy still needs to work on his defensive side of his game but i still would play him, it's obvious that Dixon needs help and if he had not played well this season imo things would be much worse. It makes no sense to recruit Eddy at the of 27 and not play him, he is kicking goals.

Imo what shits most people on here, is that we have players in consistent form in the Bs and they are not being selected when others seem to be a walk up start irregardless of form. EG : Hratlett, Young, Westhoff, Pittard and to a lesser degree Impey and Amon. Ken also brought in Matt White on the back of no form. We were made to believe that Ken was only going to select players with a run of good form in the Magpies.
