Told ya

You said he was an inside bull at SANFL level tho :)

Nah I reckon he'll be a handy accumulator, as long as we keep drilling into him the importance of winning contests and tackling well, or he'll end up as Masten mk2
He's still an inside bull in the bedroom i heard ;)

Yeah i agree. Would like to see him turn into a poor mans Zac Merret. Outside player that wins more than his fair share of the ball. Unlike Masten i think he has no issue winning contested ball (because he ain't a bitch like masten) but his tackling atm seems to be a concern and something that needs to be addressed.

Simmo just on 6pr...interview normally gets put up fairly quick, will post when its up.

Asked specifically about is it time for Priddis by Haselby...some quotes from memory "thats a really interesting question, he's not above criticism, we'll have to sit down with Matt and work through that"

Asked about Partington "he's close, hes still working through some things, id like to get him in before the end of the season"

Asked about NN playing this year even if finals are gone "not mutually exclusive, if he's right to go he'll play"

All from memory, apologies for any misquotes

Definitely dropped off since the Port game though. 7 Touches, 4 touches and 4 touches definitely isn't a great return for the last 3 weeks
To be fair, based on his past experience, AFL seasons only contain about 6 games each. Hardly surprising he'd drop off. Rest him now, and give the body a chance to recuperate. Next year he'll be a chance to get through closer to a full season without hitting the wall.

Yep, pretty spot on.

Interesting on Partington, he was pretty clear there are things they think he's still not ready for AFL with.

just watched hurns press conference he and simmo sound like they are in denial about the true state of the club.

B: nelson barrass shepard
HB: hurn schofield duggan
C: gaff sheed lamb
HF: darling mcgovern jetta
F: cripps kennedy karpany
R: vardy shuey yeo
INT: cole partington mutimer hutchings

play one ruck and have mcgovern as back up playing forward, darling to be a high hf and plenty of young runners out to prove themselves and hutchings in case we need a tag. none of the old faithfuls with runs on the board they've taken us as far as they can

Yeah didnt sound like he was getting picked this week.

Also said that if Lycett had played instead of Petrie on the weekend we would of had a younger team than Collingwood. No idea how true that is.

Pushed him aside like a player was hilarious .
He thought it was a collingwood player as the ump bumped into him he push him out of the way but in his defence he never even looked who it was he thought it was just another player in the congestion

It's Brisbane. At home. With no Zorko (???) and a clipped (non-tackling) Rockliff

If Simmo needs a better excuse than that to trial a young recruit then they'll never play AFL. Delist or play him.

Just come out and say 'Luke has to work on his defensive game a bit before we consider him for senior selection'.

I mean, why the smoke and mirrors? Just like with injuries. It's pathetic.

Yeah I'd love to see just when Simpson is thinking of "hopefully getting parto in at some stage this year..." if not this week.

I mean sure, it's only the bottom team missing it's best player at home, after the midfield you keep backing in was once again embarrassed, and you'll only be rewarding a whole season of solid WAFL form from a young player...

But yeah let's wait a few weeks to get him in, great plan. It's too risky :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Am I deluded or did we draft Duggan as a mid? I know we put him back to get him into the game more, but sure next season at the latest he will be ready to move to his natural position?

I'm sure we drafted him withe very intention of using him as a mid, despite the fact he played off the HBF in the u18 champs.

But have clearly wet our pants after noticing he wasn't coming on in the midfield and have since moved him into the backline where he has admittedly flourished. I don't mind it personally, let him get a taste of the leather and build some confidence before we try midfield stints again.

I think Yeo is the sacrifice Simpson is making for playing Duggan off a HBF now, which is annoying.
