Put on notice for putting us in winning positions at half/three quarter time in all our close loses this year and being out of the 8 on %? Or for the last two years when we made a grand final and finals?

He can't control the players decision making late in games when we're losing the plot. People are hating on Simmo like we've finished 18th.
I completely disagree.

No repercussions on the team or the leaders that have let him down for many years. Not changing the coralling gameplan that was obsolete by mid last year.

This is 100% on him.

Agreed that he isn't dropping underperforming senior players. However, the gameplan cannot be blamed every time we lose a close game. We easily got 90+ tackles when the players brought ferocity and will to tackle in the Geelong game. If the intent isn't there to tackle from the players, he can't do much.

So many times today our players went to tackle and simply couldn't stick it because they didn't go hard and it was a lazy half assed attempt that got shrugged off . The tackling skills are not there to execute that gameplan - admittedly by the slow players mostly.

Rockliff tagged Gibbs. Interesting.
Hutchings must tag Zorko.

The knock (kick) Shuey copped on his knee isn't going to help him.
We may see a few sore outs against Bris. and Shuey may be one of them.

We're running out of time to play Lamb so he and Parto should get a run. Season over in terms of finals if we cant show some grit ;)even when the opposition are 2 down)
Not mad, just disappointed.

If Simpson is actually serious about his newfound desire to play youth (as per his press conference), the most pronounced change should be:

In: partington

Out: priddis

What we will actually get: more tough talk and the status quo by adam and the match committee

Senior players who have been dropped at various times throughout this season: Schofield, Masten, Wellingham, Jetta, Mackenzie, Hill, Hutchings, Butler, Redden.

Maybe we should gripe about them making the wrong choices, because clearly they haven't just been resting on the status quo and reluctant to drop senior players.

would love simmo to go **** it and just bring rioli in. give him 5 games of experience this season.
You've called for Watson and Rioli now. Ain't happening, not for a while.

Pretty sure Rioli would get injured and mess up his preseason.

Priddis and le cras are not earning games on form. At all. To have credits in the bank must be an amazing thing at west coast

Sorry to the people who are calling for Watson to get games, he is a long way off playing AFL. His poor disposal, decision making and simple mistakes cost East Perth 3+ goals per game. Would get totally overawed and intimidated playing AFL.

we are basically done. Rioli is a bit far fetched by Watto is actually realistic and giving him a handful of games this season might go a long way for him next season. Hopefully Rioli can get at least a game or 2 before the season is out.

we aren't going to make finals, might as well give em some exposure before they year is done. Also helps us tank a bit.

Making the finals or not means little to players getting games. Watson is low on confidence after a WAFL game, he will be mentally shot after an AFL game.

Rioli finished the reserves game yesterday with ice on both hamstrings. Even if that was just precaution he is very underdone.

Some "interesting" calls to bring WAFL players in who've never played at this level before. Even young players like Duggan can succumb to costly decision errors like today, it wouldn't be the best for their experience to willy nilly bring in rookies - it would kill their confidence. Even Cole got smashed today - and he's played a handful of games.

fair enough.

I really hope MK comes in! Played his best game when Lecras out. Strikes me as the type that will do better in AFL then WAFL

Have read through a mixture of views. In setting the scene for next game, we now look to have officially replaced Richmond as the irrelevant 9th place. Not enough to get finals and not enough to get a gun draft pick. It is now important that we will need to back the young guys being given opportunities and give some more games to the team that will be banking on in 2018. We also need to address fade outs, Lecras is one but not the only to blame.

In: Mitchell, Partington, Karpany,

Out: Priddis (don't care why), Lecras (omitted), Schofield (too tall)

Any case against Cole is short sighted so please do not bring back Wellers. We need to persevere.
Lecras just does not chase. How many times do we see him fade in Q4 and also gives up the chase when his player wins the ball and just runs it out of defence.
Schofield was not that bad but the MC are picking too tall a team. Yeo back to defence and running HBF/3rd tall
Priddis change is a no brainer. Enough said by many.

FB: Hurn Barrass Sheppard
HB: Yeo McGovern Duggan
C: Gaff Mitchell Partington
HF: Sheed Petrie Darling
FF: Karpany Kennedy Cripps

F: Vardy Redden Shuey

I: Nelson, Cole, Jetta, Hutchings (but only if you have him tagging Zorko)

The players at WAFL level I would give games to between now and the end of the season to see if they deserve another year...
Malcolm Karpany, give him an extended chance to see if he can replace LeCras
Fraser McInnes for Vardy. Playing as well as he has played at WAFL level. See if he can be the backup ruck to replace Petrie if he retires.
Tom Lamb on a wing for 2 games, does not deserve to carry the oranges to the half time huddle at the moment but he gets no more excuses after a two game trial.
Partington for encouragement. Despite the numbers he is just not damaging as they suggest but deserves a few games.

Seen what Mutilmer offers which is very limited and no need to see anymore this year.

Giles, Masten, Hill, Wellngham can do as they please. Feel sorry for Tunbridge, he is good enough and the type of player we need but his style of play leads to hard knocks and his body can't take it.

Wrap Rioli, Bayok and Waterman up and get them started on a new 2018 program now. They need the extra work.

Rotham, Gorter, Snadden, Watson can play out the season at WAFL level.

He looks shattered and i kind of feel for hIm.

But on the otherhand i don't. There have been so many moments this year when the peny should have dropped and it hasn't.

This point has been coming for many years. But especially this year, the whole bunch of muppets enjoy smelling their own stink. Delusional the whole lot of them.

Whipping the whole team and getting them up for the
Next game is not the answer. Simpson has it right, this team has no will to win. Whether anything is done about is another matter.
"Simpson has it right, this team has no will to win" Well said -with a few exceptions, mainly JK, the team is made up of down hill skiers with hearts the size of a split pea. Wouldn't have a clue about will to win, guts and determination or any of those old fashioned ideas.
I thought our motto was something like "Dig deep" - what a joke.

You do realise that Sumich was seen as the person having way too much influence when at eagles? Big footy board for several years called him the cancer and wanted him out.

Now we want him back in. How cute.
That was before I started on here or never noticed, my opinion is I never saw him as a good development coach when he was at the eagles but he is perfect to push teams over the edge from good teams to great teams. I guess Simpson doesn't want him because he was an integral part of the Worsfold team and he could be scared Sumich might try and take over. But Sumich has more coaching experience then anyone in the current coaching team so you could do worse.

Sumich is also an idiot. As a player he had a few good years then lost it mentally and could not kick a goal to save his life. The resulting chip on his should is Pilbera sized.

You agree with many i speak with and see WAFl games regularly - we have nothing much to bring in.

Draft -3 Masten a spineless crab
Draft 5- Gaff plodder who will not put on pressure and lobs the ball up high without looking out of fear
Pick 7- Shep an honest undersized HBF

none of the above can play in the middle - we leave that for rookie picks. makes you wonder.

Out: LeCras, Priddis, Petrie
In: Karpany, Partington, Mitchell

Hope they give Pridda the "omitted" tag too - none of this soreness crap. I think Petrie has done nicely for us but with JK back we're a bit tall and he just looks blood slow out there
