Do you guys still have Brad Scott week?
These guys will start:
Butler Schofield Hurn
Sheppard ? Wellingham
Masten Priddis Gaff
? Darling ?
Cripps Kennedy LeCras
Lycett Yeo Shuey
Leaves 7 spots:
- Gov will play. So that's 1
- need two tall defenders. If gov is back its one of Barrass or Mackenzie. Think gov stays back and Barrass stays. That's 2.
- need a ruck/forward. Either Giles, brown or gov. Think they will give brown another week but ruck gov a bit. That's 3.
- that leaves 4 spots for Hutchings, McGinnity, Hill, Jetta, Nelson, Redden and Duggan.
- think Hutchings, McGinnity and Nelson stay. Other 4 vying for a spot. Think they may persist with Jetta and keep hill out.
No way Hill misses out if he's right to go. One of our best this year.

Extended interchange benchWhat if he is 95%?

Good point. It was a rushed post I also left out Hill. It's getting harder to fit them all in. Good problem to have. It's Butler's 150th, he won't be dropped.
I'm just a mere mortal, asking the question of another mere mortal. For the question must be asked, if not by me, then by whom?We can't resolve fitness to that small an increment. Who do you think you are, a scientist?
Has the roof been closed this whole time?is Brad Scott week dead?
If Hill has got over his tonsillitis has to come back in as has been in good form. If still only 50/50 then give him another week off. But then who to drop is the question as think Jetta needs to be left in to find some consistency and what he does, he does well - just has to work harder that's all. Hard to drop McGinnity based on last weeks game as his 4 goals came in handy, which leaves Dropping either Hutchings or Nelson. Who had the better game last week. What Hutchings has over Nelson at this stage is he knows where the goals are. Glad I'm not a selector having to make these difficult decisionsThese guys will start:

I tried to watch Jetta closely last game (with the caveat that I wasn't actually at the game so relying on broadcast vision). It looks like one of his biggest problems is his running patterns. Once he gets the ball he looks quality... he just needs to get to the right areas more often to be more involved in the play. On many occasions he got stuck between lines and was overlooked for a pass. So I'm not sure if the best way for him to find form is to be dropped to the WAFL. What he might need is time to understand how to play in our systems... which will only come by spending time playing with the squad at AFL level! If Hill has got over his tonsillitis has to come back in as has been in good form. A bit of a conundrum. Do we write the year off now and put up with short term pain for long term gain by developing players? Or being only 1 win from second spot... do we need to keep pushing with our current best 22 and push for short term success? Or maybe try and have the best of both worlds? I don't really know.
I can't see McGinnity being dropped either. Comes down to Hill or Jetta I reckon. I'd be happy for Hill to play.
4 goals v Essendon won't save Paddy at best he's a just a fringe player .
I agree with you... but it's not necessarily a matter of what he deserves, but what is in the best interests of the team in the medium-long term. He has shown enough to say he is a very damaging player when he gets the ball in his hands, but gets lost in no-man's land within our system at the moment. The question is how to manage and develop him to get him into his best form for us as quickly as possible.I don't think Jetta deserves the luxury of finding form while playing at the AFL level, half a season in it appears no closer. He's shown nothing this year and was ordinary at Sydney for the last year or so I thought. We swapped him for Sinclair knowing we had a ready made replacement in Lycett ready to go, whereas Sydney had no like for like replacement. This suggests to me he was expendable for Sydney while Sinclair probably wouldn't have been without Lycett. Redden responded to being dropped with 28 possessions and 3 goals but Jetta's WAFL performances were mediocre at best and shocking at worst.
If Jetta's as good as everyone thinks he is then he should dominate the WAFL and consequently demand an AFL recall. I don't think that's too much to ask for.
29 touches, 6 marks and 0.3 in Round 9 hardly suggests mediocrity. If he nails those three goals all of a sudden his stats are no worse than Redden's, which apparently is your benchmark for a good response.I don't think Jetta deserves the luxury of finding form while playing at the AFL level, half a season in it appears no closer. He still might be dropped. He only came in because Hill went out. He said after the game that he knows where he is at with the team and accepts it. If we aren't looking at keeping him beyond this year then we may just drop him. I would feel sorry for him if they did.I can't see McGinnity being dropped either.
