I want Andrew Moore in the side asap. But unfortunately the Magpies had the bye this weekend and you'd reckon he needs a run there first. He trained strongly on Wednesday night and appeared to show no ill effects of his shoulder injury.

Out:

Cassisi (Ret.) - It's come to this. Is the quintessential shot footballer. Cannot kick a football accurately over any distance, can't rotate through the midfield and was never quick to begin with but has devolved into a turtle. I admire the loyalty Ken has shown him, but if he was anyone else he'd have been mercifully Albertonised long ago.

Mitchell (Omit.) - Has been treading water for a good month now. Didn't drown tonight, but was pulled out of the surf and told to swim between the flags.

In:

Newton - Why can't this kid get games in and under? No-nonsense clearance specialist, booming kick. It's time the tiring midfield had a fresh face to do some heavy lifting.

Butcher/Shaw - We simply must play one. In a structural sense it's no different to how we had to play Renouf when Lobbe was injured. We just have to. We can't afford 'not ready', 'hasn't averaged 5 goals a week every week in the SANFL for 3 months' anymore. Schulz can't keep battling alone for long periods, especially with Westhoff now forced to relieve Lobbe and the undermanned back six.

Sub:

Monfries - I don't know whether it's the ASADA/show cause thing that's got into his head, or he's still carrying something debilitating enough to significantly curb his output, but as others have said, it was Megaheadritage Round last night. Bring him on fresh against the Tigs, where he'll ideally wreak some havoc amongst tiring legs. Youngy deserves a full game.

On Dom Cassisi, I think it's up to him to be honest and in the best interests of the team retire now to stop Kern from picking him again. He's a former captain, premiership player, 227 games under the belt, and part of the enviable tradition of our club. He's nothing to prove to anyone. Aaron Young brought so much more to the team when he came on in the third quarter and I would argue that Ken lost us this game on this selection alone. Time for Dom to put the club first.

I'm inclined to bring back Butcher for one more go before giving Shaw a go but wouldn't quibble over either coming in the side.

Was happier when Pittard was crap and everyone else was good.
Unless Butch has a line though him for the season to get his body right I would bring him in for Dom. Dom did nothing in conditions that should have suited him last night.... on a fast track against the Tigers I can't see it ending well if he plays.

Newton for Mitchell.
Logan for Dom.
Young a full game.

Keep a forward structure so we don't bomb long to 3 unopposed opposition defenders all game.
Next week will be a dry game.

Is it just me or does anyone else want to see Butch play on Vickory? Maybe its just me but the AFL needs a spark me thinks and it would add to the highlight reels.

Haven't seen the game yet... watching it today but prior to watching the game would go

Out:
Pittard, Mitchell, Cassisi

In:
Clurey, Butcher/Shaw, Logan

The only two players trying to create some run and take the game on to get the ball through the press.

If more people had the attitude of Pittard we'd have won

People that question Pittard's game last night clearly need to be questioned themselves. I'm pretty sick of the constant bagging of Jasper from clueless supporters. End of rant.

Logan needs to come in for Dom
young takes Mitchells spot, Mitchell sub
Boak and Wingard swap positions, Wingard offers more as a mid imo and Boak can play as a goal kicking HF imo.

We need to rest Gus for a tall, would prefer P Stew imo

I must say Jasper has dramatically improved since I decided not to sit on the fence with him anymore and called him a spud.
Glad to be currently, proved wrong.

Monfries main problem is that he has spent a large percentage of the game on his bum. I've noted occasions in the last two games, as well as a few in earlier games, where he has been free and ready to take an easy mark and run off but has fallen over. One occasion in the second quarter may have ultimately cost us the game as it produced a 12-point turnaround. Although he also had shocking service. In the third quarter when Essendon were all up their end Mitchell got the ball and with a bounce would have been able to put it in front of Monfries running into goal but instead kicked it straight away into the pocket, allowing Essendon to get back. With that run, you could see that Monfries was aware of the hamstring he suffered against North Melbourne as he was careful not to go too fast.

50 bucks he'll play mitchell next week...should've been dropped weeks ago but ken obviously wants to play small which is so ****ing frustrating.

Ken has plans to change our structure just before the finals.

I question when "just" is? Too early and we give sides a good look at our change, too late and we don't settle and we drop another couple of games that we shouldn't.

My gut feel is a tall forward needs to come in but starting on a dry day. Although I like the look of Shaw, I feel butcher is still ahead given his ability to play up the ground. That said, who ever gets the gig, our structure desperately needs it.

Out: Only two of Monfries, Mitchell and Cassisi
In: Butcher, Newton (as sub) with Young playing a whole game
