I get that Kane will never be a great AFL player but he doesn't need to be a star, just add some intensity to the group. Is basically a quicker version of Toumpas that also tackles.

Again, Impey is a quicker livelier version of Amon and has a hunger for the contest.

Badly out of form and a statement needs to be made. Lobbe battled hard today but got ground down and Howard can give him the support we need. Can't be worse around the ground than Westhoff in current form.

Out: Neade, In: Palmer.
Love the idea of Neade but there's no way you can carry a forward who he kicked one goal in 5 games. Might as well give Palmer a go.

If Trengove is out with suspension, then Clurey is probably the best bet to come in? Maybe put PStew down back instead and reward another magpie in good form.

Stewart was below par in his impact but at least have a shit, so that's enough for him to stay for mine.

Hammer gets one more shot but has to fire some shots v Richmond.

Out: O'SHEA (how he still has fanboys baffles me, he is utterly terrible, and he's not going to suddenly come good in July no matter how many times that stupid myth gets posted on this board), Neade, Amon have got to go. Others who might be in the gun are Hartlett, Westhoff, Lobbe, S. Gray, Stewart (although he was good in the third quarter when we actually played him in his ****ing position for once). And potentially Gray and/or Trengove from suspension.

Ins: I'll tell you tomorrow. Plenty of AFL quality players playing for the Maggies who have a golden opportunity to get into the AFL side next week.

I'm prepared to back Toumpas in. Fair bit of Jasper Pittard circa 2013 about him. Has some serious tools, but doesn't have the confidence or experience to put them together. There are going to be rough patches along the way but if we put the time into him there's every chance that in 2-3 years time we'll be rewarded for it. And it's not like he's gonna cost us a flag this year, so why not persist?
