Even naming vardy in the extended squad is a pisstake

I’d like Schofield to stay simply because he has track record of lifting in crunch games.
Cameron for Petch, Masten for Waterman.
Waterman doesn’t strike me as a wet-weather player, ironically enough given his surname. Masten neither but he will offer more than JW.
Cameron needed for his tackling energy. Don’t think Petch will offer much in a scrappy tight game against Richmond.
With someone in the opposition worth tagging virtually every week then Hutchings definitely has a role. I haven't any qualms about that. But, if he isn't tagging, what do you think he should be doing? As for options I gave you two. You don't have to agree but it seems you have dismissed those summarily. If you can offer some evidence of Hutchings performing a non tagging role I'd be Keen to hear it.I'm saying, if we were to disregard this pattern, who would we even bring in?
You guys seem to think Hutchings is a week by week proposition. You say things like "if he doesn't tag, he doesn't play". But the reality is that it's been 30+ weeks of picking him. And it's not clear that there are any better options waiting in the wings.
Playing as a defensively minded midfielder even if he's not doing a hardcore "tag".With someone in the opposition worth tagging virtually every week then Hutchings definitely has a role. I haven't any qualms about that. But, if he isn't tagging, what do you think he should be doing?
Which brings us neatly back to my point , he's a tagger pure and simple. We already have Yeo and Redden who are accountable midfielders who can be damaging in their own right, we don't No one to tag then I think he's a liability, which has been shown when for reasons only Simpson knows, he's played him in a non tagging role.Playing as a defensively minded midfielder even if he's not doing a hardcore "tag".
Which teams do not have a single player who's at least worth curtailing, if not "tagging"? There's always going to be a player we should put extra work into.
Hutchings isn't flashy but he's suited to finals.
Because in finals, eg against a Sidebottom, a hard tag will be beneficial, as we know. With Yeo and Redden we have enough "defensively minded midfielders" who can attack as well. Hutchings offensive game isn't at that level.Playing as a defensively minded midfielder even if he's not doing a hardcore "tag".

He is saying that Redden and Yeo have the ability to be a defensive mid without going full tag so if Hutchings isn’t tagging then someone more attacking, like Masten could be brought in.I'm not sure this responds to my post.
Even if not tagging, Hutchings can justify his spot as a defensively minded midfielder.
Not sure how that "brings us back to your point".
You suggest Ah Chee, despite him apparently not being seriously in the midfield mix. And Nelson, despite him being used as a defender, aside from one game when he took Oliver.
Those aren't very compelling alternatives.
Our disagreement is simple, you say Hutchingscan justify his spot as a defensively minded midfielder, I disagree. I say he is only in the side if he tags, you disagree. I base my call on games where he hasn't hard tagged and has looked out of place. Show me some games where hI'm not sure this responds to my post.

Someone more attacking yes, Masten I did not specify! He is saying that Redden and Yeo have the ability to be a defensive mid without going full tag so if Hutchings isn’t tagging then someone more attacking, like Masten could be brought in.
He's not saying Masten should come in. He prefers Ah Chee or Nelson. He is saying that Redden and Yeo have the ability to be a defensive mid without going full tag so if Hutchings isn’t tagging then someone more attacking, like Masten could be brought in.

Yeah Masten was more my suggestion on top of your reasoningSomeone more attacking yes, Masten I did not specify!
Ah Chee isn't a midfielder! That would be news to a lot of people. And you offer players who don't play midfield as alternatives.
Fair enough, but if he doesn't play I don't shed too many years.Yeah Masten was more my suggestion on top of your reasoning
We've played him as a high HF.Ah Chee isn't a midfielder! That would be news to a lot of people.
In this meme analogy, you're the weird old man walking into a girlie bar wearing slippers and a hat?
