can't believe you quoted a tweet from someone who is a nobody... says a lot about the person that he has a pic on his account wearing a west coast jumper like he still plays... oh dear..

The picture is of Fraser McInnes, Brennan's cousin as far as i know.

I agree we are vulnerable but I have been impressed and surprised by West Coast this season .... so we are a chance .
Richmond are a team of Prima Donnas and has been for over 20 years as most of their sacked coaches can tell you.

We wait to see if they are on song this week or not.

You obviously have not seen any Tiger games this year.

I have watched a fair bit of your games. You seem particularly from a kick out, love the long kick to the fat side, mark, another long kick to HHF then a lock kick in. if we can limit you in the air, which IMO is a strength of ours, it will go a long way to forcing your mids to hand ball and short kick. With some of your mids average disposal efficiency, it shoud allow us to use our strength which is scoring from a turn over, we are rated to 3 in that stat. I think a 7 goal average and its what allowed us to beat freo.
You obviously haven't seen any Eagles games this year. Precision kick ins are one of our strengths. We rarely kick to a contest and Hurn, McGovern or Schofield regularly hit a target on or beyond the 50, which opens up the opposition zone. If there are no clear long targets, we usually take the short option down the middle if someone finds a pocket of space. We're ranked 4th in disposal efficiency while Richmond are 7th.

Simmo 6pr interview:

- One of those games that looked congested - thought we grinded out pretty well in the end.
- Last year we had games like that where we didn't get over the line.
- We've evolved from last year, no doubt - but we haven't changed a great deal since I arrived, other than the players have a better idea of what it is we're trying to execute. Less time introducing new stuff, now, and the focus is more on execution.
- Asked re Gaff form - His form has been solid for my whole time at the club.
- People forget he's 22 - he still has development and growth ahead of him - his form for the last 12 months has been great. Has been a significant cog in the team for 20 or 30 games now.
- Asked re All-Australians in WCE - I'm reluctant to say. I would have thought E-mac and Pridda were half a chance last year. Sometimes when you leave it to those in the East, funny things happen.
- No doubt that WA players get overlooked for those sort of accolades from time to time. I don't think anyone in the club is particularly worried.
- Asked re the bye - We're just recovering as we would in any other week. The players aren't really thinking about the break yet - the boys don't plan too far ahead at this time of year. The lads are focused on Friday.
- Conditioning is going well - our team are doing a great job at keeping the lads happy. We've learned a lot from last year, too, and we've adapted our plan a little bit this year.
- Blokes are in good shape for this time of year.
- Asked re how to manage Sherman from American Pie (Jack R): I watched the Fremantle / Tigers game - the three talls they have aren't a typical three tall setup - one of them will always go further up the ground.
- We tend not to worry about match-ups specifically, because we just don't have the personnel right now to do that [with the injuries down back]
- Asked re Gov's health: Corkie - missed a game already this year with a corkie - I don't think he's allowed to miss two games a year with corkies. (Ducked the question a little).

He's got his cousin Fraser McInnes (who made his debut earlier this season) in his profile pic, like he's supporting his cousin or something, oh dear...

you get 10 games a year with the most advantageous home ground in the comp, we only really have a home ground advantage a few times a year when we play interstate teams... and surely travelling every 2nd week would make you a better travelling team than a victorian one who doesn't travel enough?

that home ground advantage alone should see you win enough games every year to play finals.

Alas for poor Richmond that it has failed to make the MCG their home ground advantage. Hawthorne and Collingwood have done and they moved in later than you. You would average 13 or so games at the one ground each year. What a massive coup to be playing most of the finals including GF at your home ground.

Have we ? Have we really came out on top?

Have you seriously forgotten the last 9 seasons
I didn't specify a set time period. And travel/breaks have been the least of our problems in the time period you mentioned.

My point is that going on ad nauseum about travel/breaks right now is not going to get us anywhere. We can't do anything about the travel - we brought that upon ourselves when we joined the Vic-dominated competition. The breaks are a product of the fixture, which has swings and roundabouts for almost every club. Overall, our fixture is good, and that's what counts in the long run.

The challenge will make it all the sweeter when we win on Friday night. And if we lose, then (depending on the nature of the loss) we can discuss travel/break issues. At least then it will be actually constructive and may have some beneficial effect on our future fixturing. But its no good whinging about it beforehand.

of course... i love the g, we are privileged to play at the best stadium in the world every 2nd week however it is no advantage to us. As for hawthorn and collingwood, you have just named 2 very successful teams of the modern era, they would be successful wherever they were playing not due to them being at the mcg. What i am saying which i think is quite easy to understand is subiaco or whatever you call it these days is a much bigger advantage to the home team then the mcg is? surely you must agree with that?

How recently ? He's a regular at the Belmont Racecourse

Think that might have been Jared Brennan.

Jacob is on the Sharks' list but has said he may not play all season with a foot (or ankle?) injury

Glad that we cover the loss of best 22 players better than the tigers. Doesn't seem like they compete very well when they're missing one or two of Rance, Maric, Deledio. From a quick look at their board, it doesn't seem like too many of the tiger supporters worry about their depth though, which I found a bit surprising.

Pity there isn't too much rain expected on Fri and we don't get a replay of last year's game. All of our sprinkler training over the preseason would have totally negated the impact of the six day break :rainbow:

How can it be of no advantage to you when West Coast haven't played there at all this year? In fact when was the last time we played there?

I checked, May last year, Round 10 2014 v Collingwood.

No advantage my arse, you have played at Domain more than we have played the MCG lately.

So Richmond are the underdogs because we're used to travel and 6 day breaks, and we've got a massive home ground advantage at Subi. Have I got that about right?

I didn't say it wasn't an advantage to us, of course it is an advantage to us when we play interstate sides only. I said over the course of the season you have more advantage playing at subi then we have at the g. make sense?

Over the course of the season you have more advantage traveling 4 times than we have traveling 10 times. Make sense?
