Teams coming off the bye often lose to a team who has played the previous week.

Still think we will lose by a few goals. Just too tough with our three best KDP out.
Depends on the time of the season

Teams coming off the bye in the first half of the year are disadvantaged

In the second half of the year the team with the bye has the advantage

Given we are coming off two 6 day breaks and 3 states - I'm guessing the refreshed bodies would be the preferred option Given we are smack bang in the middle of the season

If McGovern doesn't get up, how are you guys going to attempt to stop Riewoldt, Griffiths and Vickery?

Riewoldt loves to push up the ground and move his opponent away from I50, leaving Griffiths and Vickery, both 200cm giants to take the contested marks for us.

Honestly, this is not an overly scary prospect. They aren't that good.

Jack will probably kick a few though, its just a matter of when. He does have a habit of getting a few in junk time in the last q when the game is over one way or another.

The main issue for us will be keeping Dusy in control and not letting him get 20 kicks and a few goals.

Dunno why but my gut feel is we will win this last time I has this feeling was I thought we were gonna lose to norf and that proved correct

Neither looks like kicking a bag I'll grant you, but it was those 2 who did the damage against Freo early with 2 each in the 1st.

That's actually a myth, the stats have been done and he gets them pretty evenly across all 4 qtrs.

Simpson obviously giving a few of his younger midfield rotations a bit of a rest leading up to this huge game. I suspect we'll have the troops to go all-out having reduced Yeo's midfield time last week, rotated Sheed, Scooter and Duggan as the sub, and kept Nelson/McInnes kept as solid backups ready to come in and play a role.

Last couple of weeks have been vital to try and get Scooter up and running again. Giving him the benefit of the doubt at this point, his disposal's nowhere near as bad as some are claiming but he's down a little on output and we'd like to see synchrony in general play with the rest of the squad. These things take a bit of time to build, it's not easy coming in for your first real run of the year halfway through the season. At full-flight he offers a defensive edge against the quick clearance or rebound, wins his own ball and generally uses it to advantage, sometimes at an elite level (would like to think Simpson might've helped develop that facet of his game).

It's incredible to consider our growth in depth this year.

In: Nelson (if Ellis out)
Out: Ellis (if susp.)

Sub:
Duggan if he's feeling a little sore, but we'd like him out there for 4 quarters if his body is alright come Friday.
If not,
Selwood (it's time for Sheed to play a full game against quality)
Emg: Barass

I'm not so knowledgeable about your list, so I don't really know whether you have the height down back to deal with 2 ruckman sized forwards and Jack.

Especially since we love to chuck Deledio and Martin down forward, I have a feeling your backline might get stretched a little bit this Friday.
Elliot yeo towelled pavlich , he will go back , sheppard , wellingham , ellis, nelson play tall for their size , hurn and schofield . They been doing it all year plus a young kid called barrass will come in if mc govern is too sore . But mcgovern can play on 1 leg and then there is a bye

This will be tougher than the Port Adelaide game, they have been in good forma and beating Freo in Perth says a lot.

We cannot have 50 less disposals like against Essendon. Unlike the Bombers they have forwards who score Jack, Dustin Martin, TYron etc

We only need to make once change and that is if McGovern does not pull up Barrass comes in.

And for the love of God please put Yeo on the ball and not at half back

No need for mass changes this week. Interesting to see that McInnes and Nelson didnlt play EP 1's on Sunday. Anyone know why?

We've nearly got the best available 22 fit and ready to play AFL which is a great thing. Good WAFL return from Rosa in terms of possessions won.

IN: Nelson, Rosa
OUT: Ellis (if suspended, I didn't see the incident), Duggan (rested)

Think the best 22 would have Rosa in for Duggan or Selwood.

Vickery is a joke. Josh Bootmsa is about the only decent matchup i can think for him right now, and unfortunately he's not available for selection.
Freo probably thought that, and Vickery kicked a game high 3 goals. He's no star, but he's 200cm, about 98kg, a great set shot for goal and a good mover for his size. If you don't pay him respect with a decent opponent on that basis alone, he will kick 2-3 which will hurt.

You've got a great forward line, and I reckon there's one match up that decides this game from your point of view, Kennedy vs Rance. If Rance shuts him down well, you probably won't be able to kick a big enough score to beat us, because I'm tipping we should be able to put atleast 90 points on the board.

That would be the case if Kennedy was our only player capable of kicking a score.

All of Kennedy, Lecras and Darling are proven capable goal kickers, 50+ in a year. Cripps, Hill are also capable of contributing with mids like Shuey, Yeo and our two rucks noted goal kickers.

A lot of scoring power.

Plenty of confidence on the tiggers board, fair enough I guess. But it just has that Port game feeling about it "we'll smash em, feel a percentage boost coming on here" etc etc.

I am not expecting a win (who's surpirsed at that;)) but I hope we don't get thrashed, we'll need all our percentage come the end of the year with how tight it's going to be.

I reckon we'll catch them napping in the first quarter after their 14 day break. Then we'll be completely w***ered by mid way through the third and they'll come roaring home. It'll be a close finish, hopefully we can cling on.

That said I'm tipping the Tigers :p

This is very true. We don't usually start the season well, or games after breaks. We are a side that "builds" into things, and continuity is good for us. Wouldn't be suprised if we started the game a bit scrappy and you jumped out to a quick 2-3 goal lead.
