The reality is that they do not want to show Adelaide and Port Adelaide home games. If you want to watch the game sadly foxtel is the best bet.

I know exactly what its like. Lived in QLD for 5 years in 96-00 like living in a black hole. That was before FF or a decent internet or even Apps. Channel 7 have always treated their sports fans with contempt. AFL is trying to grow the game in both NSW and QLD, why not put other games on one of their sub channels?

The delay is not usually half a game Vader and that was the point I was making. All leading up to their bloody news service. If you want to put the half an hour news over footy, fine give the footy to some other FTA network.

Not always the easiest to get to the footy. Okay when you're in your 20's with no responsibilities. Been to plenty of wet days at AAMI.

They do. Footy games here are broadcast on 7mate, not Prime (the main channel). They also broadcast all Sydney & GWS games live, which goes a long way towards meeting the AFL's goal of "growing the game in NSW & QLD". Supporters of non-NSW based clubs take their chances.

Look I understand your complaint, however you have to understand channel 7 do not want to show these games. So the sooner you understand that the less frustrated you will feel. Blame the AFL for not setting tight enough guidelines on how matches are to be broadcast.

Some teams in Melbourne don't even get to FTA AT ALL on a weekend.

Last Sunday was the third FTA game the Crows have had this year:

Round 1 v Essendon
Round 4 v Western Bulldogs
Last week v North Melbourne

But get your point.

For those complaining - the solution is simple - get Foxtel. You can even take the footy on the road with Foxtel Go.

First of all they seem to want to put in a 15-20 minute "wrap up of the round so far" in the quarter-time break for God only knows what reason. Then they'll have a half-hour news break at half time, plus some ads and waffle on either side of that.

By the time the third quarter starts, there has actually been more time spent not watching footy than there has been watching footy. It's awful.

That said, I didn't get to watch the game on TV today so I have no idea if it was any better than their usual crap today.

Honestly get your ass to the game then or at least a venue with fox that shows it live.

I remember when all Crows games were delayed at least an hour in the 90s. I used to sit there and listen to the game on my Walkman. Still remember the Hawthorn game where we came from 42 behind and McLeod kicked the winning goal. Was jumping around the lounge room looking like a bozo. One of the great calls it was.

That one was horrible, the game didnt flow at all because of those breaks, and all probably to stretch out the game to lead into the news. It almost felt like they were seeing how far out they could stretch our game so that next time they have a Celebrity Splash flopping they can put it in our quarter and half time breaks to get their ratings up.

Don't mind the delay but I'm not a fan of the local coverage we get instead of the Foxtel coverage during breaks.

It was unbearable in one of the earlier games this year. I don't remember which one, but we immediately followed a Port game. In the quarter time break they spent a good 15 minutes going over the highlights and waffling on about a game that they only just finished airing 30 minutes ago. Not even an around the grounds thing, just Port. Like all the Crows fans watching gave a shit what Port did, or more to the point, even if they did, they would've been watching it on the same friggin channel half an hour ago. Then of course once the game ends, if it's a win there's no time left to show our song.

I forget the specifics but I believe the broadcast contracts give Foxtel exclusive live rights to X number of Adelaide and Port Adelaide home games in SA (and the WA clubs in WA). So Seven have to delay X number of home games.
