Just when other TV stations are starting to grasp the idea of using their digital channels to provide live sports coverage, Ch 9 have reverted to type and given us today's ODI on a three hour delay so it fits neatly either side of the news.

Not happy Jan. Get with the times you stinking stone-age brutes.

They won't. They treat the consumers like morons who will watch no matter whenever and in what format they choose to broadcast. Only way they'll get the message is if viewers drop off.

Can't think of a single commentator in the world who doesn't use nicknames.

the nba commentators use nicknames occasionally, but majority of the time its the players surname. in fact they'll use nicknames after the action has happened.

If the numbers drop, they will then say their decision to delay the telecasts are justified because people aren't watching. You cannot argue with an executive type, they think they know everything.

Anyone hear Slater make fun of Morgan's Irishness when he scored the century, was very unprofessional.

BREAKING NEWS

FAULKNER will miss the next game because a burst ear drum. thanks to michael slater screaming at him

FFS. Nobody can ruin a big moment like this ******* Syd. Absolute embarrassment to us as Australian cricket fans when you consider how many people watch these games from overseas.

Just imagine how amazing tonight's game would have been if Bill Lawry was behind the mic at the key moments like in seasons past...

Do you watch much overseas sport?

If you did, you would notice that very few commentators refer to players by their nickname or variations on their given name or surname. It is pretty much an Australian thing and it's bloody annoying.
