On a related note, Howie and Maher are complete bell ends, but I love the work of Waugh/Flem/Ponting etc on CH10 a the first two, especially, get some great banter going.

Not sure why they need to wear a suit to commentate the cricket, honestly who really gives a shit.

Agree with you about Waugh/Flem/Ponting, they have been great and have got the right mix of banter and cricket for 20/20. Lets be honest 90% of the games are the same and there really arent that many tactics to talk about.

James Brayshaw. Just annoying to listen to. Part of it is simply his personality and speaking manner, it just grates. But also comes from specific things he says eg Andrew Hilditch has been unjustifiably maligned and did a fine job as chairman of selectors, and that poor delicate little flower Kevin Petersen doesn't deserve to be booed by the Australian crowd. Also loves mentioning that Pointing and Siddle are both good North Melbourne men (I guess when you're struggling little North Melbourne you need all the publicity you can get, but there is precious little appeal for the rest of us). Just can't stand him.

Where did you hear him speak, does he do radio work?

Unfortunately I don't think Ch 9 is particularly interested in "insight" and eloquent speakers, they prefer the hysterical shouting of Slats and co.

Did much better than I personally expected, considering this is Taylor, Allen, Brayshaw, Warne's first summer of really leading the team. All of them with the exception of Slater and sometimes JB cleaned up their acts and, whilst it wasn't even in the ball park of the British Ashes series coverage, the commentators did decent work.

ABC. And agree re Ch 9. Only Taylor is worth listening to for some insight. He really needs to get over to the ABC to maintain any level of credibility with the shite he is surrounded with. Slater leads the pack of hysterical, nonsensical hyenas.
