Damn.

Just brought him into my SuperCoach side last week too.

Seriously though, it's not necessarily the worst news. Sure, it means we have lost one of our best against the League-leaders. But Geelong, moreso than any other side, should be able to cover most of its players because the really don't rely on a handful of mega-stars in each. In my opinion, Chapman is 'coverable'. We all know Geelong has to stand up this week. This just gives that extra chance for those in the midfield and up forward to stand up and be first to the footy, like Chapman has done consistently.

We have great depth to cover for this loss. Chappy is irreplaceable, don’t get me wrong, but it could be worse; he could be out for four or five and without a reasonable replacement.

Prismall will come in for him, on a good day Pris is fantastic and this will be a good test for him.

In: Stokes

Out: Chapman.

Ready made replacement, Stokes is not at Chapmans level but is a very worthy replacement after yet another B.O.G performance in the VFL.

Any news on Egan?

Is Harley back this week?

Pris and Stokes played blinders in the twos - both were "hurt" by being dropped and played hard and aggressive to make a point. Pris should get first dibs on coming in for Chappy, but it will be entirely dependent on what the coaching staff deem to be more valuable. Forward defensive pressure and maybe a goal or two, or extra midfield presence with maybe a goal or two. will be interesting to see which way they go.

Prismall for mine.

I honestly believe that both Stokes and Prismall wil come in for Tenace and Chapman. Tenace may be a good prospect but Prismall is all class.

Surely cant let Tenace go after only one for chance?
Needs more than one game here or there - as does everyone.
I say go with Prismall for the midefield grunt and hard tackling, give Tenace a couple of weeks at least..........

I concur wholeheartedly with that statement Hoff, but I still think Tenace offers a different style to both Prismall and Stokes. Pris is, will be a very good inside player, Tenace is the opposite.

Stokes is forward defender pushing into the midfielder, again not a job for Tenace. So the question will be what do we need to win against the weagles? Do we need and small forward defender (Varcoe is doing OK atm), do we need an inside midfielder (which is what Chappy is when he is in there), and do we need that outside run to break the lines??

Only having Woj, and maybe Mackie as the outside runners may not be enough...........but then again WC are very good in and under all over the ground so we may need to counter that too.

What about:

Varcoe, Chapman out
Prismall, Stokes in
Rooke emergency

Varcoe, whilst very good from a pressure perspective and a rare talent to steal the ball and do the exciting stuff, maybe stokes who will be in and under + plus defence would be a better option. Prismall then in for extra midfield spice and allows for Tenace and his running ability (which I believe is getting better....so is his kicking.....sort of :o). Rooke an emergency (depending on the day - if wet and windy definate inclusion).

Thoughts??

Get Rookstar and Priz in there...i doubt if we can beat them playing fairyfloss...in and under, hard at it...two great utilities forged on the anvil of chappys example...

Yep, and having Johnson back in the ones also helps us cover the loss of Chappy down forward, although I think we will miss that 'hardness' that Chappy provides around the ball. We have a pretty potent forward line nowadays in Nathan, GAJ, Johnson, Mooney, Varcoe, Ottens when he's not rucking, Hawkins....as long as the delivery into them is within the radar and we have some guys at the fall of the ball. We have the depth to cover a missing forward or two....long long time since that has been the case?

Thats bad news, Chappy is a hard Ass, The first i would pick every week without a doubt.

I wouldnt bring in Max just yet, make sure he is fully recovered We need him towards the end of the season not round 7. Im a fan of both Prismall and Stokes but i would select Stokesy, small forward for a small forward.

That should be the only change. By winning by 157 points if you got dropped is crap. Tenace has to stay in to get his confidence up to play at that level. Why not play him on a class player like Kerr or Judd (Rotating) He has the pace, never know they might lead him to the ball.

i think chappy , if anything, will only be out for a week, sportal is a load of shit, chapman didnt even have any ice or anything on it, believe me, its not a 2 week injury,
