He’ll be fine, if he re-injures it’s just shit luck at this point. I have heard he has been match fit for 6-8 weeks now. He’s our Ferrari and a career defining type of project for Russel at Carlton. They wouldn’t risk it if it was of a high risk profile.

Probably just getting through unscathed matters most to the club. We know what he is capable of as a football player.

Sure, we know what he HAS been capable of in the past. Doesn't mean that he won't be extremely rusty. Getting through unscathed and performing poorly because he's rusty, is no reason to bring him back into the seniors. Needs form and confidence first.
I'd also be very reluctant to bring him back in if Harry isn't playing. Extra pressure to perform and push himself to the limits as the only proper forward, and all of the attention from the Saints defenders is NOT what he needs in his first game back.

Yes it's called being sensible and ticking off requirements for the body to adjust to game conditions, there is a reason every football club has a sports performance department.

Damned if you do and Damned if you don't. The way the Club's travelling at the moment it'd cop the whacks from people here no matter which way it went on anything.

The way people are on here, they'd complain no matter how the club is going.

I would trust the club the manage Charlie's return a he'll of a lot more if it wasn't for the fact that:

- we hadn't called for a public external review and made it clear our coach's job was on the line
- we hadn't lost to the bottom team.last week, thus giving the club a need for its patented distraction 'feel good news story' (usually reserved for players signing new contracts...)
-we had other KP players available and there wasn't a lagging suspicion he has been brought forward for that reason alone
- we didn't have a shocking history of players coming back too early and getting re injured.
- our medical team didn't lie to the fans and hide the status of injured players on a weekly basis
- he had played in at least one real practice game or reserves match rather than a couple of scratch games

Maybe he is ready- who knows. It's sad that after the last two decades I have zero confidence in the club at all. Best wishes and let's just hope for the best...

You'd liketo think so. The last 2 years should of been a big wake up call for him, he'll no longer feel invincible and respect his body more.

He’s a lad but that’s the dna that makes him the player he is.
There will be doubts over his knee but there are a lot of great stories of comebacks as well as fails.

If he’s no less chance of re-injury now vs 22, why wouldn’t he play? He’s a footy player denied the opportunity to do what he loves for 2 years. Give him a lick of the ice cream now, get him a few weeks re-learning how to mesh with Harry (important regardless of coach), give the midfielders another target to hit (which I’m sure will get them excited).

Get him out there.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Ed Curnow say in his press conference before his 200th game last week that Charlie was really keen to play against North but he is more likely to come in for rd 20.
