you'll find that most supporters don't call players by a nickname similar to that which they are known as at the club...who calls leon davis mag? don't think many on this board would call him anything but neon if we were looking for a nickname.The positive of Shane O'Bree retiring is that I won't hear or read people calling him "Cheese" or "Cheesey" any more thank goodness! I don't know where that annoying nickname came from because people at the club call him "Obes."
That said, he has been great in many ways for Collingwood, and as recently as last season, he finished in the top-10 of the Copeland Trophy again. Good luck to Shane O'Bree, and I'm sure he'll enjoy working with Guy McKenna at the Gold Coast Suns.
