Do you like the way Cheney goes about it or Andrew Otten? It seems to be either one or the other.

If I was picking one to stay on the list next year I'd go with Otten. Cheney is the better player but we can't keep both on the list and Otten adds a bit more versatility

All including Cheney himself have had their body let them down quite a bit over the last two seasons, it's been well documented Talia doesn't do much training during the week most weeks just to get up for the weekend's games. I think a KPD needs to be on our shopping list pretty soon.

Otten forward is gross though imo. Makes us even slower.

His ruck work isn't bad for someone so undersized, but not worth sacrificing the forward line for.

We recruited him as a 6"3 or 4 mid and he came second in his yr for NAB rising star. He's transitioned his development every time and adapted. Plus he's got a footy brain. Cheney does as well but he only organises backs.

You could argue for Cheney being best 22. Otten is a possible back up down forward or back, but not best 22. I’d keep both on the list for next year, but if having to choose, I’d keep Cheney.

There is a reason to keep them both on one year. Moving the list and being transitional is also a matter.

I’d 100% be keeping Cheney on the list next year. I think he’s a really valuable player.

Last week we went into a game against one of the better 1-2 KPF combos in the league and didn’t have 1 of our top 3 key defenders. Thanksfully it was a nothing game, but if it was an important final, to be able to bring in a player like Andy Otten would have been invaluable.

Having ready to go tall depth in a side challenging for a premiership is invaluable. As long as the understanding is that he’s there as key tall, break in case of emergency, type depth, then I’m happy to have him.

I’d personally be offering both a contract. Kelly’s the one I’d be shuffling on. No longer best 22 and lacks the composure and foot skills of Cheney and can’t play tall like Otten.
