I just heard a caller on SEN who happens to be the satistician for SEN and K-Rock and a mad Carlton supporter make some very good points about Chris Bryan. He said if the Blues knew Bryan had a poor attitude at the end of last year why did they bother keeping him on the list.
He is also said if Pagan doesn't play Bryan at the expense of McLaren against the Bulldogs this week he would rip his membership ticket for 2006 and start a fresh in 2007.

I tend to agree with him.

It Denis Pagan watched the same match that i did today, Chirs Bryan would be the first player on the INS: list for next week. HE DOMINATED! Played 80% of the game in the ruck, but also driffted back to help in defence and pushed forward and took some fantastic contested marks. I think he kicked 2 or 3 goals aswell. Would probably be top 3 in the 'ants b&f and it is a discrase he isnt in already.

ATTN PAGAN: BRING BACK BRYAN!

If Chris Bryan is not included this week I will drive up the freeway to Princes Park and ask the club what the problem is myself.

Actually, if he isnt in this week, i will be 100% sure that the player Pagan said wont get a game this yr will be Bryan. Im still shocked the he hasnt got a game.

Its funny how all it takes is one decent match and every thinks he deserves Senior selection.

You've got to question why its taken until after the half way point of the season for Bryan to pull his finger out and actully look like he cares a little about his footy.

Lets hope the penny has dropped and good luck to him if he gets a game this week.

I've seen half a dozen bullant's games this year and he has played very well in 4/6 of them. I agree with what was said originally if his attitude was no good why was he kept at the end of last year.

Perhaps Pagan has been teaching him a few values that he needed to learn to establish himself as a senior player.

Now he might have learnt / be learning what it takes and it's all coming together and he will be rewarded.

If Bryan plays in the next few weeks it'll show he will figure in our team over the next few years.. unless of course he plays abysmally.

I can't wait to see him bomb some huge ones.

Go BLUES

I agree, his last month of footy has been a vast improvement, with the weekends game probably taking it up on notch as well. The problem has not just been his lack on intensity during matches, but at training.

Chris has a tendency to just cruise through training doing the minimum each night. He has pulled the finger out in this regards recently as well, but he needs to maintain the intensity during training and in matches throughout the season.

I would be surprised if he doesn't replace McLaren this week.

While thats a very valid point, Bryan should get a game at McLaren's expense. McLaren is knocking loudly on Bannister's worst player at Carlton door!

However we cannot afford to go into the game with all of French, Bryan, McLaren and Deluca. Deluca won't be dropped, he is in reasonable form.

Which one of either Barnaby or D-Mac would you drop?

I'd drop D-Mac to the ressies for a week or two.
McLaren might try his guts out but he is no good. he was no good at brisbane and he will never be good with us. the only reason why he got a game at brisbane was because they had so many injuries to their ruckman.

Iknow this thread is about Chris Bryan, but I can't understand how McLaren gets a game. Honestly, from what I've seen, he has done nothing. Consistently gets beaten for hitouts, and around the ground where he is supposed to at least take a few marks, and IMO is not up to AFL standard as a ruckman. Barnaby is still our No 1 ruckman, but is getting on a bit, and is not as good as previous years. We need a good ruckmen badly in this years draft or PSD. What is Bryan's credentials as a ruckman? Is he better in a KP, ie CHF because of his long and accurate kicking? I've seen him play at FB, & with his kicking out over 65- 70metres, as Dennis Cometti would say "centimetre perfect". I have heard about his perceived "ordinary attitude" to training etc, but maybe he has been told if he doesn't "pull his finger out" he will be delisted at the end of the year, and that accounts for his improvement in form in the Bullants the last few weeks? If he got a game this week, what is Chris Bryan's best position?

Fair comment. McLaren's best quality is his application but he was never the most gifted of players. Although while he was never higher than our 4th ruckman he did play seniors for the majority of 2 seasons, including a grand final.

It's a shame it's not working out. I always like to see the x-Brissy boys go well (except when they go to Collingwood:p). However it would be good to see Bryan get a game. I enjoyed seeing him in action last year and the way the crowd took to him was great to see.

i might have been a fraction tough on dylan but i can honestly not see the combination of french/mclaren lasting too much longer. really these two are the worst rucking combination going around. I mean when you analyse it french isn't much better than mclaren. in fact at one stage mclaren was preferred to french.
