He is related to Phil Egan from Richmond, who was a handy player for the Tigers in the 80's..he was an Aboriginal, so I'd say that Chris is as well.

You only have to look at the calliba of player collingwood let go over the years. (by the way im a magpies fan on my sisters account) I talk the likes of Mc Gough, Scotland, Betheras, Shauble, McKee, and others, all who will get games at other clubs. Mc Gough will be a great player, he wins the ball and feeds it out to other teammates. Mick Malthouse has lost the plot since the 2003 GF. I seriously hope we get Caracella becuase he'd add another dimension to our forward line.

Malthouse and Balme have to take a lot of responsibilty for what the Pies did on the field in 2004.

I'd worry more if we let Buckley, Tarrant, Clement, Burns etc go. You are talking about fringe players, not superstars. They may well get games elsewhere, but they'll never be matchwinners. I wish MCG well having said that. I agree with you that 2004 was a total balls up, but we have to get over it. The type of players we chose today are what we need. Quick and skilled. The draft is a bit of pot luck. Egan may turn out to be twice the player Bate is. He may not.

Caracella I agree will be a good get for the price of next to nothing.

If the guy turns out to be in the Aaron Davey mould (which he sounds like he might be) then I'm not going to worry too much about the pick. If he turns out to be in the Daniel Wells mould (which he does have the talent to do) then it will be a genious move. The fact is, we have midfielders. We've got plenty for now, and we've got a lot of young midfielders, and more chances to bring them through in the next couple of years. I'd be happy just to get a guy who can play on the forward flanks, provide us a bit of dash and class, and be a dependable goal kicker, but the fact is, he'll probably be at least that, and maybe more.

Egan, by all reports, is one of the most talented kids in the draft. If he can improve his consistency, then there's no reason he can't be a great player.

And as for the racial stereotyping here, that's ridiculous.

We don't know what we r doing. That's my point. Collingwood r a joke. We have 15 morons sitting in a coach's box on matchday ,tell me what that says for Malthouse. He should be running the show. Not these other donkeys. You only have to look at Williams and Matthews, they only have 2 or three others in the box.

Collingwood need to improve and it starts at the coach. he needs to look at our list and use it and play the players in their right positions. IE Cloke where he belongs in the backline and O'bree in the seconds. Heres how our line up sould look in 2005

I think the example of Byron Pickett is one who is exemplary in toughness, but as GlovemanGayfer says, actually playing against them, you realise that in most cases, you assume they're soft because they're so skillful.

The fact is, guys like Daniel Wells, Andrew McCleod, Richard Cole, Gavin Wanganeen and Adam Goodes in the game today, they're definitely not soft, just because of their speed and class. And in the past, guys like Michael Long, Chris Lewis and Nicky Winmar were definitely not soft.
