Wells and Brown and pick 3 - For judd

Couldn't possibly put Brown and Lynch in the same team.....there would have to be some sort of law against that.

How about Wells, #3 and Moran for Judd and Seaby?

 If Judd is more valuable than Brown (and that's arguable by many), then it's not a pick 5 difference. If Clubs were offered the following :

Chris Judd, or
Jon Brown and Pick 5

I reckon 90% would take Brown and 5.

Losing Judd would kill an Eagles fan (including me)....but Brown's injury problems aside I would almost swap Judd for Brown. Judd may turn out to be the best the game has seen, but KPPs that can destroy a game don't grow on trees.

2 first rounders..... Altough if eagles did trade him it would mean something was wrong with him... (shoulder).

Tarkyn Lockyer
Tex Walker
Brent Hall

Bonus for WC with these three are they are all great blokes and West Australians to boot, so they'd be happy to head back West. ;)

I would be looking at Hawthorn and throwing up C. Judd for M. Williams and L. Franklin. Maybe some swapping of draft picks either way to even it up.

Oh, no, the draft picks would be going all one way - to us. And they'd be high ones. Remember what Hawthorn were supposedly going to offer us last time (1,2 and Williams).

"In other news, West Coast's hypothetical drafting team has hypothetically sacked BK Eaglesfan after he acquiesced to Freo's request for Daniel Kerr in exchange for Paul Medhurst, but not before he had traded Dean Cox for a roll of paper towels."

way to state the bleeding obvious, dumbass:thumbsu:

It's OK Don, I got the tongue in cheek nature........actually I was close to signing off on the deal till I spotted Henneman. Was even going to suggest throwing in Kerr and Hansen if you'd just give us Solomon. Love to see him run through Woosha at training. The next 5 minutes would be the most televised training session ever.

We can get Medhurst for just Kerr? My god, get on the phone before they miss out.

Just because us WCE supporters are usually so sensitive of the mere mention of C. Judd heading home.....I've got a sense of humour, and decided it's going to cost too much against our salary cap to try and keep him and am going to shop him around before the cost of keeping him tears the Eagles apart.

So, what would you Melbourne clubs offer up (assume this year with the draft expected to be as it is and the other players available)?

Don't bite my head off everyone, just having some fun at my own expense (you know how sensitive we are to this topic).

Tarrant and our first, second and third picks for Judd, Rosa and your 2nd pick.

You'd have to chuck in Didak as well......we love taxis at West Coast, Didak and Waters would get on like a house on fire.

Interesting...Rosa a second round selection who has probably improved in value slightly......worth now high 2nd round (was 29th)??

Tarrant stand alone worth low first round??

So Tarrant for Rosa PLUS a little (maybe 3rd or 4th round not 2nd)

Leaves Judd for 1st round (9), 2nd round (17?), 3rd round (33?).

Picks don't offer enough value for Judd straight out. You'd need to get that first round pick into the top 5.

Well theres 10 teams in Melbourne, so 10 teams will throw loyalty out of the window for a week. Melbourne will fall apart with the amount of teams moving heaven and earth to get the gun.
Hird... your good but your medical bill is too expensive.
Westy... Head WEST cause we want a brownlow medalist in the team.
bucks... Eddie doesnt love you anymore. (well until judddy gets here).
Hodge... your left foot can kill a monkey without moving, but your slow.
:D :D

Nah in all Honesty... A fair trade would be Pick 1 and another Top 5 pick (preferally Pick 2) and a Brad Green- calibar player.

Apart from any trade involving Jonathan Brown, I think this offer trumps anything else in this thread.

West Coast get pick #3 (probably Gumbleton, who is from WA), Wells (who was a #2 pick, and has lived in WA), and Brown (pick #5 who lived there whilst at Freo).

All three players where top 5 in the draft, and have had ties to WA.

Can anyone beat this?

Riewoldt and Pick 9
Although this is all hypothetical, that is getting close to a fair trade. Although Judd is a fantastic player, you cant go trading 3 or 4 players plus picks to get him - how are you going to fill those spots, and how are the eagles meant to fit all of those players in their team? If the eagles swapped some picks as well it might work. However, I would think a gun player plus a first round pick would be very fair.

If Judd decided he wanted to go home to Melbourne next year, his salary would be close to $1 mill. Therefore, you wouldn't be wanting to trade everything to get him.

Judd is way over any AFL players. He is the king. From North, it will be Wells+Swallow+Harris+Hale for Judd. Actually, Judd should play midfield for the socceroos in the next world cup:thumbsu:

Very true, in reality it would need to be a VERY good player, plus high draft pick. Where would the Eagles (or any club - I'm not just trying to be pro Eagles here) fit half a dozen 'good' players in the side to replace one out and out champion having just come of a premiership.

I do like the Riewoldt / pick 9 offer. On face value it's close (Riewoldt a F & B winner in a damn good side), and Riewoldt would slot into the Eagles side nicely and #9 in a deep draft would likely get something of value.

Wells, Brown and #3.....on face value not too bad....the only downside being I don't see an obvious spot in the Eagles side for Brown at present (with Glass at FB and Graham developing at CHB, plus Hunter) and Wells hasn't stepped up to the level some thought he would. It's a fair offer, but Brown just not required by the Eagles at present which means they would need to see more value in Wells.

Hodge and #3 very interesting. Probably fair.....i just like the original one sending Williams and Franklin to the Eagles as they would both slot into the side tomorrow, and there is something tantalizing about Hodge and Judd in the same side for followers of football in general.

Even Kangaroos and WCE know this would be an unrealistic trade. Judd is a stand out champion, but there is no way, any club would trade THREE possible champions for one. Wells is rated highly by the Roos, and as you said, Brown was a pick 5, and lastly, pick 3 from the superdraft, it is THE SUPERDRAFT.

As for Judd, as every passing year goes by, his value slowly deminishes, because it is one less year left in his career. I know his value wont be going down anytime soon, but by the time he does choose to return to Vic (if ever) his value wont be so high, because a 25-26yo midfielder (with only about 5-6yrs left at the top) wont be worth 2 18-19yo 10-15yr players who could be stars.

From a Hawthorn supporters perspective, considering one of our few on-field strong points is our midfield, I dont think it is a good idea to offer up 2 forward line players? Having said that, I would love to get him, and would offer up Mitch + pick 6. As much as I love Mitchell, would be too good an opportunity to pass up. As has been previously said, you can't go offering half your list, it just isnt going to happen. A quality player + a high pick would be what it would take.
