BK Eaglesfan said:Very true, in reality it would need to be a VERY good player, plus high draft pick. Where would the Eagles (or any club - I'm not just trying to be pro Eagles here) fit half a dozen 'good' players in the side to replace one out and out champion having just come of a premiership.
I do like the Riewoldt / pick 9 offer. On face value it's close (Riewoldt a F & B winner in a damn good side), and Riewoldt would slot into the Eagles side nicely and #9 in a deep draft would likely get something of value.
Wells, Brown and #3.....on face value not too bad....the only downside being I don't see an obvious spot in the Eagles side for Brown at present (with Glass at FB and Graham developing at CHB, plus Hunter) and Wells hasn't stepped up to the level some thought he would. It's a fair offer, but Brown just not required by the Eagles at present which means they would need to see more value in Wells.
Hodge and #3 very interesting. Probably fair.....i just like the original one sending Williams and Franklin to the Eagles as they would both slot into the side tomorrow, and there is something tantalizing about Hodge and Judd in the same side for followers of football in general.
If the St's supporters really would offer Riewoldt and pick 9 I think that is an attractive deal. Definately better than Wells+Brown+pick #3. Substitute Brown for Thompson and I bet that'll get some interest (although I wouldn't do that deal).
Hodge and #3... you can't offer that, as Hawthorn doesn't have that pick.
