That's not really relevant; how long can Porps, how long can Walker, how long can Danger?

Knights has a very, very nice kicking technique, if he's going to have a shot on the burst from the 50, if he can kick 50% of them, and is willing to dish off to someone in a better position if possible, then you'd take it any day of the week.

yes very true, i'd take his kick from 50 instead of kicking to a contest in the forward 50.

And confidence cant be underestimated as a factor... Knights has always had a big leg, and got himself into good goal scoring situations, but rushed the kick a bit, missing it.

Now that he has kicked quite a few from out there, tough angles etc, you can see the confidence he has in his ability to slot them. He doesnt rush the kicks, and hes slotting some rippers as a result. Theres no reason to think he will now regress in his goal shooting ability.

Knights has always been a very good player for us. He's an absolute ball magnet wherever he plays and his work rate is unquestionable.

Yes, the herd mentality which demands that some one must be whipped to death irrespective of fact had chosen Knights as their victim and every little error he made became reason enough to drop him, trade him etc blah blah blah.

Absolute bullshit IMO. :thumbsd:

Now that he's moved up forward and kicking goals the herd has changed its tune, because its damn hard to keep bagging a player that kicks goals and damn fine ones at that.

Well played Chris - to the extent that you've silenced the herd and forced them to look elsewhere with their whips!! :)

Look, the reaction to Knights was certainly over the top, as it has been to numerous players over the last year or so.

Still, I dont like using current good form to suggest all criticisms were unjustified. Knight's form now is a pretty good indication that he wasnt playing to his full ability previously, hence the criticism of him wasnt unwarranted.

Criticism of him may have been warranted, but not to the level it was at.

I'll admit that I've often criticised Knighta's disposal. Always been able to rack up touches, but disposal was his weak point. Perhaps it is not his disposal that was a problem, but a slight deficiency in decision making. Now that he is up forward, obviously with a license to have a ping on goal, rather than trying to pick out targets through defensive zones, his kicking has been devastating. Think we've definitely found a place where he can be extremely effective.

I think this is the key point. He doesn't have to choose from three or four options and doesn't have the same pressure on his decision making now when he has the ball. He can either pull the trigger or lower his eyes and hit a target. Makes it a lot easier for him now and he can clear is mind and just play footy.

Absolute gun. 14 in 3 weeks isnt it? And something like, one behind, incredible. I <3 Chris Knights.

Only a step or two away from being classed as an elite football player. :thumbsu:

So all the over the top, unjustified criticsm of him was actually a good thing then. Interesting take on it.

On that basis, we should be crucifying your man Van Berlo.

Chris Knights was always going to be, at worst, a better than average player.

Reading comprehension isnt your strong point, is it?

Chris "Coleman" Knights? :D

Anytime he's got the ball within about 80m - he's got the green light - and it's sex. :thumbsu:

Guys like him are worth so much more with the spread of Zone defenses...

Its like the guy in basketball whos money from beyond the arc... you cant defend him with the standard zone, he can just go over it.

In astonishing form at the moment.

I don't think I've ever seen a player come back from injury this much improved. Is elite.

Also, masterstroke from Craig to put him in this new role.

He keeps proving me wrong, that's for sure.

same for me. now we just need dougie to join the "prove me wrong party" consistently and we're looking good. (that snap of his today was nice)..

anyway, back to knighta. in sensational form. as with the rest of us, loving his work at the moment in his new role across half forward. well played craigy et al and even moreso, well played chris.

I think a little cameo last year for a couple of games was the catalyst.
