Would you just look at him. He was glorious. Chris Mayne was cutting up the reigning premiers. Just let that sink in.
Confidence was great, just takes a bit to long for decisions at times.

I’m thinking he realizes his disposal skills by foot aren’t the best so he’s always looking for a safe option and often gets overtaken by events...

This. Taking the safe option can be frustrating at times but at least its (usually) the safe option.

Made a monstrous clanger kicking across the ground on Friday that on any other game could have been a game turner. Just needs to back himself and back his teammates in to play on immediately a little bit more and play the chaos game that has been working for us.

I think that's the issue here. it's that moment he hesitates which often or not is the cause of the turnover. just back yourself in and go because if you take to long the moment has passed you by anyway. if* and by that I mean if* we win the flag this year and his in the side. I reckon the weight off his shoulders going into next year would almost be like a new recruit.

You’re doing something right to make multiple grand finals for multiple clubs.

Hopefully the result goes his way this time.

He was a really solid player at Freo... just fell off a cliff between 2014 and 2017. Good to see him hit form towards the twilight of his career.

Mayne is now full of confidence. This is great for us, because he is an experienced player. He has played in a Grand Final before, so it's a good addition to have another guy out there who has been there before. Hoping he tears it up on Saturday. How bizarre would it be if he won the Norm Smith?

He’s probably one of a bunch of our players who it would be bizarre if they won the Norm Smith ...

- Jack ‘Steak Knives’ Crisp
- Josh ‘Uber Driver’ Thomas
- Mason ‘USA USA’ Cox
- Tyson ‘Lazarus’ Goldsack
- Adam ‘Two Hamstrings’ Treloar
- Brodie ‘Forklift Driver’ Mihocek
- Jaidyn ‘Rookie year’ Stephenson

Another good performance today, 15 disposals and 14 tackles! Showed some silk at times too, great seeing him win some hot contests in such a manner.

Well played today, don’t know why he wasn’t sent to McGovern or another of West Coasts marking defenders. That was a bigger issue than what was happening in our backline

One of the feel good stories of the year.
Stood up today. Played his role very well.
Congratulations to him. He obviously has character.
The contract (which I was very critical of) isn't looking so bad after all.
