I really thought this kid had a great game today and i would love to see him at the Swans next year as the Swans are in desperate need of some young forwards as both Hall and O'Loughlin will be retiring within the next few years.

I was just wondering what are the chances he will still be available at around picks 12 to 14 (which is likely what the Swans first pick will be) or is he likely to be a top 10 player?

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

Honestly? The chances isn't good. Many believes his a top 10 draft pick.

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

yeah man, he's pretty highly touted. basically the number 1 smallish forward in the draft. also has potential to play in the middle, pretty classy player.

heres hoping for a west coast rich+yarran double.

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

Well I've got concerns on Yarran. Had a much bigger body than most that played today and more experience as well and although he kicked a couple of goals he drifted in and out the game a lot.

Reminds me of Oakley-Nicholls, I hope we keep away from him. I think he'll be a good player but not something what we are looking for.

well, we'll have to continue being shit and probably trade a few guys + picks to get another pick inside the top 10.

Because he is aboriginal?
Other than that i dont see how they are even remotely similar at all.

What are you on?

He'd be a great fit for Carlton.

Has been playing very very well for Swans, and if he was on either of Freo's or WC's lists, would be playing based on form.

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

I think he will go top 10 for sure, probably end up at Richmond IMO.

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

If Watts is gone and we are confident that one of Cahill, Johnston or Cornelius will be there at our second pick, then I think Yarran is the perfect fit at Richmond.

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

Yarran still managed to have an impact at the game even with the terrific game Sloane played on him. If anything out of the match up - Sloane showed he could be an AFL small defender.

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

Was very in and out of the game today. To be honost i hardly noticed him apart from when he kicked his goals. Obviously has the talent though.

Sorry to say but I highly doubt it that anyone will want to gove you their first rounder for one of your players.

This draft would have to be one of the best.. I wouldnt want to give up any early picks anyway!!

No he did not. In fact he had a poor game today. The fact that he still finished up with 3 goals is amazing and testament to his skill and ability that he still maganed to have an impact in an otherwise poor game for him. When he did turn it on in the last quarter he looked the goods. I personally dont see him lasting until the Swans pick.

sydney have no chance of picking up yarran at you proable pick (as you said) at 12-14. he will go top 6 no doubt. maybe even pick 3 if both the west australians in naitanui and rich go picks 1 and 2 to melbourne and (freo or WCE), then the unfortunate WA team with pick 3 then could pick the local not risking the go home factor.

as for todays performance for yarran (july 9th) he was not a standout.
his kicking was rather down, hardly any marks and all his goals were easy snaps from close range coming off a crumb.
he kicked 2 of his 3 goals in the last quater and by that stage VIC.M was taking it easy and was celebrating a compitition win right below me.

Is he expected to become a midfielder? or will he be a small(ish) forward?...:thumbsu:

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

Pick 6,7,8 or 9 for me... somewhere around there

Re: Chris Yarran - Question

If and when he does develop the engine, he'll become a very damaging midfielder.

Are you serious?

That's all you're going to say?

Take a cheap shot at our recruiting system, which incidentally has been slowly improving.

You're a hero, mate.
