I would say that would definitely be the case. Indigenous tribes I know can differ greatly with their traditions and rituals so what might be normal for one tribe, may be foreign for another tribe. Also I would say that the "western" culture would have influenced some of these tribes greatly in many different areas including age old traditionsInteresting cos I only know one girl who has been with an indigenous afl player and he hadn't had it done - maybe it depends on which group/the local customs of the particular tribe etc?
true but western culture can be misleading - for example circumcision is very common in the USA whereas in britain and europe most men are uncut? Does anyone have any indigenous male friends that they could ask? it really is an interesting topicI would say that would definitely be the case. I know from my experience when I have been with uncircumcised men that area is a lot more sensitive when exposed - although sometimes this means they finish faster if you get my drift..

Difficult accurate figure to get I'd imagine as many are performed outside the strict medical system. The best I could come up with are linked. What is the circumcision rate in Australia these days anyway?

Most are for purely ritual purposes.

mutilation justified by relgious dogma without the consent of the child. quence do we speak of evil?
What is with this it's a painful procedure line?
First off find me one cut guy who remembers any pain from when it happened and secondly, local anaesthesia...
I was 9 and remember clearly. The pain is in the healing. An infant would still feel that - even if they may not remember in later years.

I'm not sure why when you're given a healthy new born boy, one the first things you do is start chopping bits off of them. Seems counter intuitive to me.
