Spain and Conquistadors confirmed for the base game.
Excellent. Spain was the main Civ I played as in Civ5. I loved their double natural wonder yield. Starting near the fountain of youth (20 happiness) and Lake Victoria (12 food) is the main reason I managed to beat the game on Diety difficulty. Hopefully they still have that ability in Civ6.

Can't wait. Got stuck playing Civ 3 because I loved it. Only played Civ 5 a handful of times and started enjoying so can't wait to throw myself into Civ 6

I preorder my collectors edition a couple of weeks ago, looking forward to it.

Agree on 3, sunk an awful lot of hours in to that. Miss covering the map in rail like then.

Another reason not to go to windows 10.

(That and stop playing so well then!)

It's out and runs beautifully in my six month old gaming rig. Unfortunately I won't get to play it fully until Sunday due to a completely packed weekend but it looks promising. I need to sit down and think through how I shall use each Civ to benefit from their unique abilities.

Turn times a bit slow on my older one. Took me 6 hours of fighting ****ing widows update to get some dependencies shit to allow it to launch and then reinstalling the game.

Its alright, few interesting changes, few things I preferred from my trusty Civ 5.
A lot more decision making on where you put stuff or build. Its always the way though, new games brings some good changes, some that you dont like.

Interested in this, but CIV V still doin it for me... may wait til it's on sale, looks good though.
Same here, will probably wait until the first couple of expansions and a sale. Apart from the builders replacing workers, and lack of world congress. the changes look good. I would have liked to see a beyond earth style tech web (at least in theory, i didn't play civ:be but the tech web concept looked a good way to get around the linear nature of tech).

I particularly like the idea that traders' paths become roads. Unsure how the new amenities system would work for/against me, city districts and wonders taking a tile are clever. And the limited stacking (fleets and corps) is a great way to combine units without allowing the stacks of doom.

Not bad so far. Only played early game though.

Like
Attacking cities is now more interesting than civ 5. More options and strategies.
Fortifying units in your cities now matters again
Like builders over workers.
More strategic options with the government, economics/military/diplomacy bonuses.
The fact that ability to research is dependent on your environment and actions. Just makes it a tad more realistic.
Traders building roads
Fog of war concept.
Doesn't seem to be unhappiness anymore.

Don't like
The map graphics. Just not as good as previous versions. Doesn't impact gameplay though.
Missionaries are still annoying.
aI still seems to be the same.

Not sure about
The districts. Just don't know if this adds anything to the game yet other than forcing you to buy more land tiles to find spots to put them.

Overall
This seems a clear improvement on civ 5 so far but it ain't a ground breaking improvement. Just minor things. Not seeing anything that is worse than civ 5 yet other than the map graphics.

There is quite a layer of stragety to when and where to put your districts, as well as their vulnerability to invasion.

Don't like the map fog of war as it is, too hard to tell what the terrain under it is, even though I have explored it.

As for missionaries, you can kill them now with out going to war! Can use an Inquisitor to 'attack' them in a religious combat mechanic, and if you kill one it weakens that religions strength near by too, so some risk reward to trying to spread.

Ah didnt know you could kill the missionaries. Thanks.

I just probably havnt got far enough yet to see the true strategic impact of districts. Its certainly a big change on what you build in your cities.
