Multiplat Civilization 6

I'm playing my first game on Prince difficulty, I seem to be doing well. I'm being reamed by housing in two cities and food in a third but I have a handy tech and civic lead.

I have alliances with two civs but all my neighbours hate me. However, I have strategically placed encampments and plenty of ranged troops which prevent DoW.

Otherwise I'm working through the tech tree and building random shit. I have attached a photo I took of myself playing a bit earlier.

First game on Prince as Japan.
Gunning for science victory - four turns off winning and lose by religion ...

Second game - rage quit as China.
Rebels due to a lack of amenities. Too concerned with colonising all the land, not just important land.

This game is the bomb. Now I feel like its the best Civ Year ever. The complexities of simple tile governance to great victory conditions. And the cartoony style has won me over....finally.
Love it love it. Even Multiplayer is great on it. Might take over a year to play one game with my family...trying to get us all available not easy. lol

Long time fan of this series ever since my Civ 3 addiction back in the day. Bought this yesterday and had a quick crack last night - had no idea what I was doing and managed to lose my capital in no time while only playing on Chieftain. How embarrassment :$

Was looking forward to having a proper crack tonight after work and as I fire it up steam tells me I have to wait an hour for the just-released update to download. FML!

Not played Civ since the 1990s
lol
It was bloody fun but sometimes a summer day spent 10 hours on it, has to come to an end.
2 hours was about the best I could get it down to at highest level.

Sweet, is that the first time we've ever been in the game?

I like the look of that culture bomb. One of the things I miss most from Civ 3 is being able to flip foreign cities to join your empire with your superior culture.

Looks like the capital is Canberra, I was half expecting it to be Sydney tbh.

If it was bloody Sydney plenty of us would refuse to play on principal alone.

Finally Adelaide can take it's rightful place as #1 city of Australia! :D

Latest update has a new scenario game included for the Aussie civ.

It's a federation game where you pick one of the states and set out from the NSW colony to settle somewhere on a map of Australia. No war unfortunately (;)) just an economic battle to best utilise the available resources and become the richest state.

For some reason they've set a 60 turn time limit on it though which sucks, especially because there's this 'outback' thing in play where if your units finish a turn outside settled territory they run a big chance of having some mishap event that damages or even kills them. By the end of my 60 turns I hadn't even managed to explore past where the real life WA border is because my explorers kept dying.

Had a look, its actually Nubia as the new Civ with the just out 'Summer' patch.

Yeah I meant I already had the Aussie DLC and this new federation game with different rules and units appeared after my last update.

The Aussies are a cool Civ btw, worth getting imo. You can pretty much thrive anywhere with the cattle station improvement (except snow and tundra) and their coastal bonuses are pretty high powered.

Sounds pretty damn realistic.
