Well surely most potential neck injuries get a brace and imaging will be done to check for damage.

Looked pretty bad when he came down on it. But got up and ran off the ground alright. Hopefully not too bad for him.

Just saw the tweet that he is 'all good' so he should be right for next week, or perhaps if he has some swelling they may give him a week off!

Would be great to have a run with no injuries.. Really is compounding our bad form!!

Thanks for all your messages. I'm all good. Disappointing loss for the boys. Stick with us

Good. Goooooood

"I'm all good" could still mean a week or two off, but glad to hear it won't be anything long-term.

There aren't many fans questioning his contract now.

That was one of the most terrifying potential injuries that I've ever witnessed at an AFL game.

Relieved that he tweeted that he's okay, which I take more along the lines of "I'm alive, I'm going to be okay, no need to panic about me" than anything to do with any sort of time away from the game. At the end of the day those types of scares are more about the guy's livelihood than playing the next week.

Happened right in front of where I was sitting, was seriously scared for him. He was lying down on the ground after it happened, he was knocked out with his left arm slightly twitching. I actually thought that he might have broken his neck. Was very happy to see him get up and run off, thank **** he's ok.

Looked far worse on slow motion to be honest. Was a big fall, but it happens. He's tough.

Geez that was a worrying sight to see him land like that. The name "Neil Sachse" came to my mind.

Glad he has been cleared of serious injury.

Whilst he was just laying there with his arm sorta hanging, my heart went into my throat and I thought he had a neck/spinal injury. Glad he has tweeted he is ok!

Was still stressing when he jogged off holding his neck though... didn't want him to risk an injury, I'd have rather seen him stretchered off in the buggy.

Spoke to my sister who is a MFC trainer last night. Don't want to be an alarmist but there still is a chance it could be serious, will need more scans today. As tough as it was, he did himself no favours by getting up... it may have actually made things worse. Will keep you posted if I can get any further info.

I created this because I wanted to watch it over and over again to see where he exactly landed. No doubt he's a tough bloke - and someone I think has shown he's a demon.

Club has announced he is fine, and that there is no Injury.

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/133807/default.aspx

MELBOURNE forward Mitch Clark has escaped serious injury, despite falling heavily on his neck during the third quarter of Sunday’s 21-point loss to the Western Bulldogs at the MCG.

Clark flew high for a mark in a pack situation, but fell forward and crashed head first into the turf.

Initially, he did not move, but once he got to his feet from the assistance of the Melbourne medical team, he remarkably lightly jogged from the field.

Clark was immediately taken to Epworth Hospital via ambulance for precautionary scans.

But following medical assessment, Clark was cleared of structural damage and was discharged at 10pm on Sunday night.

Clark will be monitored throughout the week in regards to his availability for Saturday night’s clash against St Kilda at the MCG.

He may not play due to whiplash type soreness, but he has been cleared by the Epworth.

So the club releases a statement saying he's fine.... when they know he needs more scans?

Hmmm...

And 'getting up and jogging' made it worse?

Hmmmmm.... yeah, that sounds consistent with an impact injury.

Oh just something Off topic - but about Mitch. He's in the top 10 goalkickers in the last 4 rounds. He's actually ahead of Nick Reiwoldt last time I checked.

So there's just another little tidbit you can throw back at any douche that tries to bag mitch and says he's being overpaid.

Very true, my post was directed at CTB by the way; not you SM.

Oh yeah , I know - I was just lazy and quoted you due to the fact we were pushing the same point about mitch being cleared. :thumbsu:

So you know the stats though, Here's the top 10 Goal Kickers list.

1, James Podsiadly - Geelong - 12 Goals
2, Aaron Edwards - Nth Melbourne - 11 Goals
3, Tom J Hawkins - Geelong - 11 Goals
4, Lance Franklin - Hawthorn - 10 Goals
5, Josh Kennedy - WC Eagles - 10 Goals
6, Jarrad Waite - Carlton - 9 Goals
7, Eddie Betts - Carlton - 9 Goals
8, Mitch Clark - Melbourne - 9 Goals
9, Nick Riewoldt - St Kilda - 8 Goals
10, Quinten Lynch - WC Eagles - 8 Goals

How does the concussion rule work? He got knocked out, so can he play next week?!

Judging by the last line of that article - I'll say yes.

Clark will be monitored throughout the week in regards to his availability for Saturday night’s clash against St Kilda at the MCG.
