Cleanout Time

These aren't raw wound, knee jerk reactions, but we have to trade Shaw. He's poison. I'll be disappointed if we don't. Also, Maxwell to hand over the captaincy so he is no longer an automatic selection.
The mission has to be to draft young payers who are known for their kicking ability.

Out: "Supporters" that over-react and claim for scalps after a hard battled game
In: Posters who's logic level and emotional level are balanced.

Look, I won't lie, this is probably the most guttered I've felt after a game in a long time - but trading Browny, Rusty, Shaw etc isn't going to make a difference next year.

Port Adelaide played with more passion, more flair and more excitement. They didn't rely on their stars (I'm not sure who they would be) to win this game. They had young kids who wanted it and wanted to play finals.

Sidebottom, Shaw and Brown are all apart of our future. This isn't a personal issue, this is a mentality issue and I'm not sure how to fix it.

When we bottom out and need a complete rebuild I'll expect this kind of reaction, until than be thankful that you support a club that is reaching these heights and that you don't support Melbourne.

We need to move big on a second key forward. Reid is good , but if he has games like he did tonight, its such a waste of his talent. We either need him down back or we actually utilize him more up forward and have cloke leading out to the flanks a bit more.

Would not consider trading sidey or brown. Ridiculous knee jerk reaction

One upside for the year we played 40 lads and played the most first gamers in the comp
That's why I see this season as being similar to our 08-09 seasons. After those two years the club made tough decisions on club legends and established players. It's time to do that again.

Defence, Defence, Defence. This is where it all starts and ends. When this area is weak, the midfield and forwards cannot compensate.
Sack the Defensive coach, he is either and idiot or too weak to push his views to Buckley.

Get rid of Harry, Maxwell and trade Shaw and Braun

I love bucks and stand by him but one thing he mentioned when he started as coach was that he would only look at recruiting players that could kick?!?!

We need toughness! Pies are the most experienced finals team in this year's top 8 and we were outbodied by youngsters!

I actually think the list is ok, kicking skills are a worry though.

We have one elite kick on our list (Pendles). This has to be a focus for the upcoming draft. No more short people either.

I'd start with a cleanout of the coaching department:oops:

Get rid of the defensive coach for a start....he stinks

Yeah agree we do need to make some tough changes though and bring in some pace and we need another key forward/ ruckman

Whata rubbish thread. ..clean out my ass. We played crap simple as that. You are all just looking for excuses.

Toovey comes back freeing up Shaw and will let him play his natural game.
we have basically been 2 players down because of Toovey's injury.

Toovey is out best mid/small defender.
Shaw is our best rebounding defender.

On behalf of opposition supporters who watch football, let me be the first to let you guys know that Heath Shaw's trade value is exceptionally low

Thanks Yahweh.

Reid, Shaw, Harry had stinkers.

Williams was brilliant, the pick of the bunch with Swan. He is a clam. I can't wait for him to maybe move into the midfield. And I don't get the Goldsack hate, or Blair for that matter. The last 3 all show great intensity.

Def need another mobile option up forward, the Reid experiment only works against the dud teams.
Send him back, Frost might be joining him in the FB position next year. Brown hmmm.

Thank you.
Like all of us I am devastated but its a known fact that losing teams tend to look slower, less skillful and more indecisive than winning sides. Turning over a big chunk of the list might help people vent but the reality is that our list is pretty good. It just takes a few tweaks, a change of mentality, luck with injuries and one or two good recruits to turn this around. Just look at Port.

I also recall at the end of 2009 how many people were so critical of our list after we were destroyed by the Saints and Geelong. In the offseason we recruited smartly (Jolly/Ball) got some new talent (eg Blair) tweaked the game plan (forward press) and had a great run with injury.

Not saying we'll win the flag next year but the foundations are there. We've played 40 players which is unheard of for most top sides. The real work starts tomorrow...I think we are looking good for next year
