Cloke V Kennedy

Kennedy, contributes more goals and hi pressure is immense. Having said that, if Cloke could actually kick straight he'd probably be the best KPF in the league. He doesn't so he doesn't get my vote. Played quite a few more games than Kennedy too and would be interesting to revisit this poll in a couple of years.

Kennedy this year. More goals, more assists. He's an intimidating figure in the Eagles forward line and he tends to kick his 3 goals every game, regardless of his form.

Kennedy has kicked 2 more goals [0.16 more per game], with the same number of shots on goal [excluding OOF].

Kennedy has 3 more goal assists [0.25 more per game].

Whilst Cloke has 22 more contested marks [52 to 30], 16 more inside 50s [56 to 40]... and averages 3 more disposals per game, and only 0.2 tackles less than Kennedy whose forward pressure everyone raves about.

I know who I would prefer. :thumbsu:

He is ok, I agree.
To be honest Dawes is a better comparison, our 2nd string power forward is better than most 1st strings and then we have the anvil who will inexplicably break games open now and then and is the prototype 2nd ruckman/power forward as a 3rd option.. it's an embarrassment of riches really

12 goals in the last 2 weeks, Copeland trophy winner, premiership player.. yeah he's ok I guess

Don't know why Collingwood supporters go on about this 'Copeland trophy', can't you just say B&F? Also, premiership player doesn't mean a great deal, Richard Hadley won a premiership IIRC.

Cloke won the Copeland at 20 years of age holding down the gun position on the ground and was the critical element in our premiership forwardline structure as he is today.

No doubt but whilst a good side, you weren't the side you are today when he won it.

Clokes the best traditional KF in the game right now. buddy's a better player but i wouldn't call him a better CHF (in the traditional sense anyway), cloke and buddy in the same team would be a match winning combo.

The Eagles KFs are playing great footy too, Lynch has been very good this year and Kennedy is emerging, Eagles have a pretty good list ATM and could do some damage come september, but as for the question, Cloke>Kennedy, it's pretty clear cut IMO, not saying it wont change though, cloke has a history of losing form for long stretches, so far so good in 2011.

We were top 4, he was 20 and the position was CHF.. name another that's won their B&F at that age playing the gun position on the ground in a top side

Good poll, the A-A selectors will be asking themselves the same question when picking the CHF. I think I'd go Cloke because of his freakish contested marking ability, it's the one thing I can see to separate two very good players.

Darcy (AA selector) gave it away on One Week at a Time.. Cloke at CHF, Kennedy next option

That's ridiculous, you're saying Darcy's opinion is the only one that counts on the selection panel. I think Cloke would be ahead of Kennedy at the moment but the only selector who is known to be in agreeance is Luke Darcy.

Looked a done deal going by his reaction, he'd be in contact with the other selectors

thumbs up to the above!!

the problem is there are so many eagles and collingwood supporters we are bound to get some dopes who blindly back there own team's players.

Kennedy 194cm 99kg 24yo in August 2011 has played 80 games and averages a tick over 1.6 goals per game.
Cloke 196cm 108kg 24yo in March 2011 has played 139 games and averages a tick under 1.4 goals per game.

Cloke is decidedly the physically more intimidating player, I love his ability to take the contested mark.
Kennedy is, however, a better converter.

I went with Cloke purely due to his contested marking prowess, I am hopeful that these 2 along with Buddy will continue entertain us for the next five years at least.

Would love either in my team btw.

Cloke is so valuable up the ground with his contested marking. I think he is a fair way ahead of Kennedy this year (but Kennedy is and will be a gun). I think Petrie is ahead of Kennedy as well and is closer to Cloke, but Cloke is having the best 2011 of the three.
