About a month ago I was doing a repetitive welding job and got lazy. Stretching over the bench to grab the next part I twinged my lower back which has given me grief ever since. Tuesday night while riding home from work I encountered a female car driver who typically had her head up her arse with no awareness of any other road users. From the right lane while indicating right she jumps into the left lane and then proceeds to do a U-turn leaving me braking on the tram tracks. I came down hard taking the skin off my knee cap destroying a good pair of jeans, grinding most of the leather off the toe of my boot and destroying a good bike jacket. It's gonna cost a $1000 dollars to get my bike back to looking decent with protective clothing adding another $600 (thank christ for tax returns). Anyways it wasn't till the pain subsided on the Thursday that I realised my lower back was better. Being slapped to the ground straightened my spine.

Anybody else had clouds with silver linings?

Did she stop to help you? I had a friend who crashed hard on the road and the stupid female driver behind him started tooting her horn to try and get him to move off the road faster.

I remember a lot of years ago, a family friend had something wrong with her jaw (it always made clicking noises when she opened it and it sometimes locked out. This had been happening for months). Anyway, my brother accidentally punched/elbowed the side of her head and it fixed it.

She stopped and reckons I hit her car. Later I noticed rubber on my headlight which must have contacted her back wheel but leaving no other visual damage to her car. If she wants to go on with it and make a claim I'll be more than happy to take up the legal fight. Apart from that there was no offer of help from her. A pushbike rider did stop and help me lift a push the bike off the road. :thumbsu:

It might have been something to do with not thinking about your back pain for a while. Im not saying it fixed it but sometimes forgetting about it helps the pain. Brain can be a friend but it can also be a bitch when it won't stop concentrating on the pain.

I remember a couple of months after my operation, I started to get pains in the same area. It went on for a week. Finally went to the doc and he wrote an emergency ultrasound. Got the ultrasound done, it came back fine with nothing wrong. Next morning I wake up and there is not even a hint of pain. Bloody thing just wanted to cost me $110.

Lucky there are no girls on this forum

It's a generalisation, but through observation I've actually found it's difficult to dispute :o

Hey TT, you should claim against her for all of your damaged possessions - she's embarrassed your position on the road. Nothing to lose - It could be 'silver lining v2.0' :)

No witnesses and she'd be a fool to admit to doing a U-turn. My word against hers, no insurance so cost as much to fight as to fix. Just got to bite the bullet on this one. Still trying to re-build my macho road persona but with the knee pain (twinges) comes nervous caution making me look like a girly scooter rider. I'm pretty sure I'll get my goolies back as the pain and memory fade.

3 weeks ago, i was being abused constantly by a customer at work, after he called me "f***ing f***head" i lost my temper (note, it was after 3 hours of him abusing me), sent home early, however, since then, it has been amazing how the normally rude customers have been with me, it is almost like they are different people:p

A few weeks ago, I lost my wallet containing most of my money... as I had just payed off a car and rego, and I was too poor to see Surrogates with my mates. :) :thumbsu:
