All the players have coaches already, one could argue a coach for the Aussie cricket team is simply a job for the boys .
I definitely agree with Chappell that the coach should have no say in selection or how the team set up and or operate on game day. The captain does all of that.

They should really be called a manager, that's sort of all they are (and not in the EPL sense)

Would me apologising for not specifically mentioning the incredibly large number of people taking swipes at the players and the players only help you not be such a stubborn prick?

I dont disagree, apart from Cummins and Smith I look at the 2012ish teams and think of how much better even us and england looked on paper

Trott, Cook, Bell, Pietersen, Strauss, Prime Anderson, Broad etc, We had Clarke, Hussey, Watson, Katich, Johnson, Harris, Haddin etc.

I said people were pissed off at they way CA have handled it, which I thought answered it.

Then you go off on a tangent about Cummins and the players getting shots in the press.
What has people having a go at Cummins have to do with the way CA handled Langers departure?

Ponting doesnt want to spend the year on the road away from his family-no chance he goes for it.

Doesn’t matter, he was already gone. And it’s not just wins/losses. Happier team you would think would mean better performances. It was also said that players like Finch took more responsibility on strategy for T20 for example.

The worst era of Test cricket quality wise funnily enough was when we had that star side late 90s, early to mid 2000's. All the sides sucked but Australia.
