Particularly Roughy, who for much of this season looked totally disinterested. Buddy had a very good season, but Roughy barely got out of a gallop all season.

The fact that Laidley has waited for a decision to be made regarding the Essendon job before discussing things further with us, tells me he prefered elsewhere. Why? Was it a different job or more money at Essendon or is it he prefers them before us? I hope it's not the latter as I would not be discussing anything on Wednesday!

It should be us they would be falling over to get too and not the other way around!!

John Barker? Not too sure about him. Has spent a year or two under Ross Lyon and Alastiar Clarkson. People say he has ruined the Hawks forward line but would he really be the only one having a say?

Look, not sure you can lay the entire Hawthorn 2009-10 disaster at the feet of John Barker, but what seems obvious is that with him in charge of a forward line containing Franklin, Roughead, Rioli, Carl Petersen, Osborne, et al., disfunction was the rule. Our hope is Leon Cameron can bring back what has been missing over the last two years.

Haven't met a Saints fan who misses him either.

Without any knowledge of the bloke, I reckon at least on the surface Nathan Bassett might be one to look at as a backline coach. Liked him as a player, and has had good success with Norwood in the SANFL, also some comments on one broadcast along the lines of he him developing some youngsters well there too.

I heard someone from the SANFL on sen talking last night. The mentioned that a few clubs from the AFL have spoken to Bassett. The guy on sen said Norwood are expecting him to stay one more year before leaving.
