I started a similar thread a while back. Forgot to do it for the Geelong game. God knows i should of because blind freddy would have noticed that Cook should not play on Ablett. Anyway. Tips for the Sydney game:
1. Dodd vs. Goodes. Goodes is in outstanding form. Some are saying he is playing better than his brownlow year. This will be a huge challenge for Dodd but i believe he is up to the task.
2. Parker vs. O'loughlin. Our backline is decimated at the moment. And Parks will give an honest contest. O'loughlin will likely slip a few past but none are likely to do any better.
3. BARRY HALL. Start with Johnson but move McPharlin onto him if he starts to get away. Hall will eventually run Johnson into the ground. His work rate is amazing. No-one player can stay with him on the long leads for 4 quarters. This needs to be a dual effort from McPharlin and Johnson.
4. Play Pavlich out of the square, and occasionally on the ball. The length of the Sydney ground means you only really need one key forward.
5. Play Webster. He is likely to relish the hard tackling. (pray his knee's stay intact)
6. Play Hayden. We need someone with some dash marking their small forwards.
7. McPharlin should spend a lot of time in the backline, Medhurst is capable of playing a key post in the forward line. He has been a lot more productive this year than McPharlin despite being in and out of the team.
8. Take Schammer out of the backline. His disposal is woeful at the moment. Play him on the ball. If he starts winning clearances watch his confidence grow. How the hell is he going to gain confidence in the backline, where disposal is most important. his endeavour should see a form reversal in the middle of the ground. Alternatives to Schammer playing in the backline are: Heath Black, or as mentioned above Roger Hayden.
