And with a lucky bounce there'd be nothing to show for it.
Proves what a fickle game AFL can be.

I know, imagine if it bounced to the left instead of the right. You wouldn't even have the two GF argument to fall back on.
Who said it bounced right?
I would say Collingwoods run at the moment is not too dissimilar to Geelongs in 07-08 when they started by flipping that gear against Richmond and just went on with it
While you were being the greatest team in AFL history grabbing an amazing two premierships in 50 years, we were quiet and humble and content with our 10

85 years knackers...just the 85. Were never competitive until the late 50's, then it just went bang! Magic.
How are those hand churned b&w flag highlights going for you?

Thanks mate, I swallowed the whole the lot just like you wanted me to because you are so powerful.
Hawthorn entered the competition in 1925 though, and not 1981 so why stop there? Collingwood have won 94 of 150 meetings between the two teams. If both teams equally play to their best, then this Collingwood team is significantly better than Hawthorn.Been spanking your mob for the best part of 30 years. This year is no different, buckle up.
The bounce of the ball wasn't lucky or unlucky.I know, imagine if it bounced to the left instead of the right. You wouldn't even have the two GF argument to fall back on.
Collingwood is the best team in the competition at the moment. Geelong has done well to actually be on top at the moment, but they played close to their best and were much hungrier when the two teams met each other in Round 8. Geelong were outplayed in their wins against Fremantle and Carlton though, but those two teams wasted their opportunities. I think the gap between Collingwood and the rest is not too different to Geelong in 2007-09.I don't believe Collingwood are as far above the rest of the comp as we were in 07/08/09.
Absolutely! Collingwood had a very difficult fixture in 2010, whilst Geelong get quite a few soft matches on their home ground which they know very well because they train there multiple times per week.If Collingwood had the same draw we have, would they be doing as well as they have been?
Umm..no they arnt.Collingwood is the best team in the competition at the moment.
Reigning premiers. NAB Cup win. Firm premiership favourites to go back-to-back. I think Collingwood is the best team in the AFL currently.Umm..no they arnt.
Perhaps you just think they are.
Results Rule.
Only biased media and low brow observers gift cred...you earn it. LAST year you did.
REALITY...please at least try some.
Why did you lose to Geelong then?Reigning premiers. NAB Cup win. Firm premiership favourites to go back-to-back. I think Collingwood is the best team in the AFL currently.![]()
We clearly didn't play well and were flat. Geelong were up on the night. It reminded me of 2008 when Collingwood belted Geelong by 86 points even though Geelong were a much better team. Geelong also played below their best in the 2008 Grand Final. It happens, but hopefully it doesn't happen to Collingwood again this season, or if it does, then hopefully not in a match that means more than Round 8 did.Why did you lose to Geelong then?

..And are still going on with it.
So much so that we have been better thus far this season than Collingwood after beating a slew of tougher teams.
I don't believe Collingwood are as far above the rest of the comp as we were in 07/08/09.
Their 2010 could be comparable to our 2007 except for the fact that we came out on grand final day and absolutely trounced the opposition from the word go, breaking the record for greatest grand final margin. Collingwood won comfortably in the end, but needed two bites at it.
In 2008, we were on top of the ladder for the entire season, which obviously Collingwood can't claim this year. We slipped up in the GF against Hawthorn, which is obviously shattering, but we our fellow top 4 finalists in WBD and St. Kilda were nowhere near us. We already know Geelong can, but I would say that Carlton and Hawthorn would also be able to beat Collingwood this year.
In 2009, it was us and the Saints. At our best, WBD and Collingwood still weren't close to us. After round 14, we rested players and made sure we were right going into September, prompting calls we were finished when we lost nothing games.
In 2010, we suffered from the distraction of a conflicting outgoing player and coach, as well as the inability of the latter to change the way the team played or re-invigorate the group. Despite continuing with the same gameplan since 2007, we did pretty well against most sides throughout the H&A season.
This year, we have a new coach, a tweaked game plan, the introduction of some young blood and some guys finally fit.
I know they're young, but I don't see the same class in Collingwood that will see them match the consistent dominance that we have had.
If Collingwood had the same draw we have, would they be doing as well as they have been?
