How much more will the new CBA and cap be? I wouldn't expect a great deal more.

Other factors need to fall into place too OS.

How much cap space will be available after Daisy's contract, Dawesy's new extension, which players will no longer be around and how much more $$$ it frees up etc.

The salary cap will get a pretty decent uprise IMO. Even an extra upto 500k increase is massive and helps us retain key players.

Yeah Pendles IS a worry for me too. Still. I've been worried about him all along, and good to see I wasn't completely off base.

CBA or no CBA, I'm sure a clause could have been put in there to allow more after the CBA is done. So maybe Goddard IS insurance in case we lose Pendles.

Having said that, if we go back to back, and then possibly a 3 peat, I wont' be AS completed devastated losing him, especially if we get Goddard as replacement.

I think we'll retain Pendles, my point is more it doesn't assist his captaincy bona fides to be holding out like this. I guess if the CBA does go up, that will help a lot. He is a great player and deserves a good return, just hope it's in the Daisy range.

I'm more than confident we will retain Pendles. He is captain-in waiting anyway you cut it.

He isn't "holding out", he is simply conducting good business. Even Eddie said the same thing on radio when the 1yr contract extension was announced.

It's great to be a Collingwood person right now.

Can someone tell me which players are out of contract at the end of this year?

At The Moment:

  • Dale Thomas
  • Chris Dawes
  • Leon Davis
  • Luke Rounds
  • Jarryd Blair
  • Lachlan Keeffe
  • Josh Thomas
  • Ben Sinclair

tbh i rekon where yet to see jmac's true potential i think he could be a quite good player for us just no enough opportunities and when he does come in to the team he plays a diffrent role than what he normal does
i wanna keep him

I don't think them two are especially Blair. Blair would have signed a 2 year deal when first drafted by the club so came off contract at the end of 2010. He was then upgraded at the end of last year so would have signed on for a further 2 years at that point in time. Keefe was in a similar boat.

Spot on Scodog.

I think Ben Johnson is also out of contract. It may come down to a decision between Johnno or Leon to go. They may make the decision for the club.

Don't get me wrong both are definite best 22 and both have had very good years, but you age quickly after 30.

I trust the Hine and his list management.

With Ben Hudson retiring, Bulldogs are another club we can offload Cameron Wood to.

Cordy and Roughead are/will be far better than Wood, they wouldn't even have a sniff of him.

they also have their vversion of Wood already in Minson (who is better anyway)

Wood has all of them covered at the moment including Minson who is just a poor mans Leroy Brown.. say what you will about him but a young 204cm tap ruckman averaging 25 hit outs and a dozen disposals will attract some interest

Jolly was averaging 7 disposals and 18 hit outs at his age

One player i've been thinking about as a serious trade target is Sam Gilbert. Having a poor season and might just need a change of club to get back to his best.

Would be very interested to see where his trade value is at and how willing St.K would be to trade him.

Think he would be a very good fit into our backline.

St.Kilda supporting mate of mine reckons he's GWS bound. He could be the guy that hasn't been linked yet to GWS but has agreed to go.

Given Johnnos & Leon possibly departures and ages, if looking to trade I'd be chasing a hard running HBF that can defend. This could be Rounds spot, but need alternatives.

I'm a big Gilbert fan, but I think the idea of St.Kilda trading with us is fanciful.

Nathan Buckley has stated he will put a premium on kicking

So I doubt we'd pick up the human sprinkler in Gilbert :thumbsd:

Can't risk Gilbert and Beams in the same team, given their off-field pursuits.

Is a QLDer so maybe even Gold Coast - when free agency comes in.

He has options if he wants to move.
