I don't know what GWS want, but the "talk" is that they want our first round pick and Witts.
If that is the case, we would be nuts not to do it.

The discussion then becomes "now we need to replace Witts" ...... enter Kreuzer

There is always janar, minson or lobbe. Lobbe would cost something, but the other 2 would virtually come for free.

Kreuzer way too expensive for his output and the main concern, and it's shown to be a huge trend throughout his career, is that he is always injured. Not to mention that he is not overly tall and doesn't have a decent leap as ruckman either. With his career averages, and I'm just guessing, dont stack up to great as number 1 ruckman.

Edit* If you do a footywore comparison with mike pike his career stats are not too dissimilar. I wouldn't be paying mile pike 5-600k a season. Don't know what all the hype surrounding kreuzer is. Good average player at best.

No, because we would replacing Witts, not a Log
Kruezer is on a par with Witts, even allowing for the deficiencies you say he has

I don't know what Kreuzer is costing

I'm in agreement with Spartan on this one, Kreuzer would be worth 300k if he was pick number 50. Not saying he is not talented, but while we have Grundy, he is not needed as they play similarly and Grundy has way more scope for improvement.

Witts is still some chance to become junior Sandilands. Imagine if we got rid of that?

Whats peoples thoughts on trading for Majak Daw?

Treloar is some chance be a junior Swan. Imagine if we declined that?

Would prefer Sam Reid.

Mahal daw has serious issues. I worked with a guy a few years back that was part of the same draft heritage and he had no good words to say about Majak. Not the sort of bloke you'd want in your team. If we aren't into Harley because of his past, Majak certainly won't get a look in.

Fair enough, havent seen a lot of him but his stats in vfl arent too bad. But we dont need knobs.

Totally agree. I reckon it'd be a mistake to get rid of Witts.

I watched Hawthorn and West Coast last night, and they both had two rucks - McEvoy and Hale, Natinui and Smith (is it?). Anyway, the thing to remember is that Witts and Grundy are both still really young. I think in another year or two, they'll both be better forwards and we can play both if we want.

If we trade Witts for Treloar, I hope it's just a straight swap, or maybe they get our second round pick. But first round pick and Witts is too much.

Im betting the club thinks Kreuz and Grundy hold the fort till Cox is ready then it most likely will become Grundy and Cox.

Not sure where this would then leave Kreuzer although club is pushing for him to play a lot of time forward so who knows.

Kreuzer is talented, but certainly not the player that we need in our side, he wont improve us or become much better than he already is. A talented injury prone Carlton ruckman.

We still got Cox . If it means trading Witts for Treloar and steak knives, go for it. Can't see rationale of getting an injury prone back up to replace a VFL ruckman. We can just as well ask for one of those 4 GWS rucks in return.

There is no bigger fan of Treloar than I on this forum. All I am saying is we should be doing everything we can to get him without getting rid of Witts. That is why I said offer our next two first rounders.

If GWS said no to the two first rounders, which I would be amazed by, and asked specifically for Witts then I would entertain this idea, but only then.

That might be fine, but why bother with Kreuzer? May as well just go with Moore and Cox straight away.

Need to keep Shaz and Freeman

Agree with this....they both have individual skills that we are deficient at big time, and that's quality ball use out of back half and breakaway pace from stoppages...

Lets get them both signed. .

Some people on this board value our players too much fair dinkum. Treloar is an elite midfielder that will play atleast 200 games of AFL for this club. 200 absolute quality games for this club. Experts have Treloar ahead of the likes of Shiel, Whitfield, Coniglio, Greene etc as the Giants best young midfielder with Brownlow potential.

If we're to acquire such a player we have to give up something in return. How you can say Witts for Treloar or Witts and a 2nd pick should be enough is just plain dumb. Sorry mate. But we need to take off our Black and White goggles and see that the Giants require something really decent in return so you have to lock in our first rounder. Witts will compliment the trade as he's just about ready to play consistent good AFL footy.

Now if you think that is giving up too much and we watch Treloar platoon into AFL stardom at another club whilst Witts battles on in his career trying to fit into our system that hasn't really worked then bugger me..

He is disgruntled for all the reasons many have 'assumed" or stated and confirmed from immediate family members that he is leaving at season's end.
The "it is what it is" comments are also true, whether you choose to like it or not. I have no reason not to believe it since the source is extremely close.

That's what I've been told on the Kreuzer issue also- he failed his medical and it's ironic that there's an-article in the HUN about his "right foot" not being fully functional and a "sticky point".

The interesting thing is whether the club is willing to still take the risk.

if we can manage him in a way that will give us enough impact throughout the yr and get him cherry ripe for finals.. then im all for the kreuzer trade. but how the hell do you maage an ankle? impossible really. so id say gamiseta re.. dont get him.

I agree - you rarely get opportunities to trade in a known A-Grade talent this young. I'm surprised that many don't see the risks with going to the draft with 1 or even 2 first rounders noting what we are going through with Freeman and Scharenberg.

You just have to make this work - we've got the potential to get another 200 games plus out of this guy and you can guarantee that 98% of these will be quality games that improves our team.

There was a thread title on the Tigers board something like this "Adam Treloar meet the kicthen sink" and they're right - you throw everything at this kid IMO. Can you just imagine the damage done to the club should we not get this over the line!!! I certainly will be taking an extended leave of absence from here as a mod  * just jokes mods
