I am really interested to see how Lyon goes about getting these extra 2 goals a game. For those that have seen the pre season games has there been any difference in forward structure since 2013 or is it going to be more about the personnel.

For me it's more about personnel. It comes down to how effective Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow and Sandi can be when they rest forward. Other than that to me it has looked more or less the same.

Belter of a day here. Dumb Victorians are sunbathing in public parks like it's South Beach, no uni on the agenda but I'm sure the RMIT hipsters are showcasing their computer-tanned skin, Tony Hawk's in town, and Freo are about to get footy to start. Can't really complain about my lot today, can I?

So hopefully they keep the roof open for a bit o' twilight sun tonight. I've been looking forward to this for the last week and a half; there's really not a lot better than Friday night at the footy. Few beers, few goals, and hopefully a win. I'm confident about our chances tonight but I think it'll be a decent match-up. Lukey on that bitch Cloke will be a genuine laugh, he'll probably keep him to about 1 goal 1. Will Spurr go on Jamie Elliot? I like the cheeky prick he is so that'll be a good contest, too. The midfield is pretty close, I mean Fyfe and Pendlebury is worth the price of your (category A brought to you by Toyota and shit clubs like St Kilda) admission. Interesting to see how the forward line'll work, that's undeniably their weakest spot. And probably ours.

I retired my 'lucky undies' after they didn't work at the GF last year. So this morning, I couldn't resist putting them on, but only to find that I have had far too good a pre-season and they don't fit anymore.. so they've well and truly been retired now. Everyone can rest easy in the knowledge that I won't be wearing anything that could jinx this game...

... now to find some other charm or superstition to obsess about..
