Ladies & Gents,

In every finals series there ends up being a player that makes him name, ie. how can you ever forget Ablett in 1989? Or Silvagni in 1995? Harmes in 1979 (ok, I was waaaaayyyy too young to remember, but have seen the video)

You can't - and these are the things that stick in people's mind when that player retires.

I'm just thinking who from the Blues list will make a name for themselves this weekend, ie. go from being a good - very good player to one of the league's most respected because of their finals performance

This week I've got a feeling about Gibbs - he kicked 6 goals in a final a few years back in SA. The other feeling I have is Fev.

Here is a nice article on Gibbs and I think he has timed his form run perfectly.

Gibbs savours new scene: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/newsarticle/tabid/4311/newsid/84047/default.aspx

i don't think anyone will make such a name from themselves in an elimination final. If we win, it's what happens the next game, ie, can he back it up. Repuations are not forged in one game unless its the last game of September

If we win it will mean our defence has withstood big, bad j.brown so i'll take a roughie and say someone like Paul Bower to really take another step and maybe become the a-grade defender he has shown glimpses he can be.

Andrew Walker to kick 4 goals and have 25+ touches. Break tackles and hit all targets...

Or probably just Fev or Juddy...

Most play their absolute guts out to just get to the required level in finals.....

Some never get near it...

The rest reap the rewards of the hard work....

Then their are a very few who are simply built for it...

A very select few not only rise for the moment, but they exceed it and stamp themselves as one of september's greatest and are talked about forever and never forgotten.

Someone who was just MEANT to be in finals action....

That someone is..................

BRENDON FEVOLA

Its been a long time coming..............

Santa Claus is coming ... TO TOWN !!! :D :D :p

I actually think it would be novel of us to suggest some of the 'lesser light' players who make an surprising name for themselves (IE Teddy Hopkins in 1970)

Apart from some Irish Magic, i have a gut feeling Yazzle Dazzle is going to explode on saturday night and then we'll have all his critics come on this board and post that they 'never doubted him for a second' :D :D :p

Thornton will be pretty hungry to taste finals fever i reckon!!
Juddy to step up like a "real" captain helping the young guys to keep their feet on the ground and stay focus.
Fev to have a goal feast and kick a bag, the hungriest of ALL to play and win so he can play on the BIG stage the following week in front of 85,000:D
