You're right. The way so many of you are taking the medias comments way out of context is a complete joke.so KB's take this morning "north may finish last time for the afl to bring in a draft lottery" this is beyond a joke

we are tanking though... blind freddy can see this.
if any other team dropped the players we did, Captain, V Captain (and BF) and number 1 ruck then we would be asking exactly the same questions.Well from my POV it's more about validating the theory and not providing the facts with it
We are not "equal last". We are 17th, with a percentage that keeps us above Brisbane and could rocket us up past a few other bottom five teams if we win games to "equal" them too.
North Melbourne coach Brad Scott has declared any thought of tanking would have a detrimental effect, rather than a positive impact on a club’s culture.
The Roos are equal last with the Brisbane Lions, with their Round 23 clash at the Gabba possibly likely to decide the wooden spoon and who gets the No.1 draft pick.
He said managing the list just to move up a couple of spots in the draft order would leave future scars.
“If you’re tempted to even think about managing your list to influence draft position then that leaves more scars on your football club, than potential upside for a draft pick one or two positions better,” Scott told SEN Breakfast.
Scott is adamant the competition does not need a lottery system to determine the number one pick, however he believes that the AFL may introduce it in the future, in order to remove any discussion.
“Personally I don’t think we need it,” he said.
“But with all the conversation around it, maybe the AFL in the long term think let’s just remove any discussion so we’re not talking about it.
“Where we’re concerned the talk I think is laughable. I felt like putting our doctor up in the press conference yesterday and getting him to answer the questions as to who we had available and who we didn’t.”
He admitted that while he thought a lottery would be perfect for the situation the team is in this year, the club’s aim is to win their last five games.
“In our personal situation I would like a lottery this year, because we intend to win the next five games,” he said.
“That’s our target. If we get rewarded for winning those games in a lottery situation that’s great.”

Last week against Essendon was blatant tanking, we knowingly put a weaker than usual team out on the park thats chances of winning were next to nothing. A one week back injury for Tarrant?? spare me.. he was fit and would've played if that was a final, same goes for Ziebell, and probably Lindsay Thomas who was only dropped because of his seniority.Keeping and playing Jarrad Waite is tanking?

Do you know what tanking means?
You are saying we deliberately tried to lose?
I completely disagree.
Were we tanking in previous weeks by playing a half fit Ziebell then?
Don't feed the troll Corzza!
Melbourne held meetings to discuss tanking and to implement tactics and selection policies to ensure they lost. The AFL investigated and found no evidence of tanking. Paul Roos was caught on microphone instructing a player not to kick any goals in a tight pre season game where he had form for losing with disinterest. The AFL investigated and found no evidence of tanking. We could have one of Rommel's Panzer divisions replace our entire team for the rest of the year and the AFL would not be able to prove tanking.
