No offence, but good luck in life. You are going to have to work in groups during uni and continue to work with people while you are in the work force.

i don't want to put myself through it if i can do the same on my own.
i can work with others, i'd just prefer not to.

Doesn't make it fun or enjoyable... which is what hobbies are about.

The purpose of groups was so that you could bump ideas off others. You can see whose yeas work better.

I'm curious about the group thing, but were it to go ahead, one thing you'd probably have to do is group people based on what program they use/have access to. Makes file sharing a hell of a lot easier.

I do agree, this does serve as a problem, because I would like see people with different programs work together.

At the moment, the only thing I can suggest is that one person takes responsibility for submitting the final designs.

I would assume that everyone would begin posting a graphic of their idea. Then one person would have to collaborate this and submit it.

I, as runner, could randomly nominate one person from each group, giving each person one round in which they have to design the final work. Or I could leave it up to the group to decide.

In my mind, the way it would work would be someone comes up with an initial design, then sends person B the project file, who then tinkers with the design & sends it back, and so on and so forth. Hence why having access to the same program is pretty crucial. Just a thought.

It needs to be worked out a little bit differently I think.

Design by committee doesn't always work well, but following a brief does.

Perhaps we could have a competition where two people team up and give each other a brief for a football team, and the other one executes that brief. Instead of choosing your name/location/colours/basic designs, you tell someone else what you want, and they put it together.

I'm not sure how sharing a file around would work. I already bump ideas off of people here if I need feedback.

How about a thread where certain designers who want in, reserve a spot. The first designer, makes a design, then next designer then develops it into the 'next year' design and so on. The designer has a week to make the 'updated' design, if they aren't ready in two days when it's there turn then they forfeit their position, and the next designer in line takes over.

Could go on for weeks or even months.

S2A, yeah is more of this kind of deal, the only real competition in it, would be to choose the best design at the end of a designated period.

Most likely a workshop idea, people could then throw down a brief paragraph to why the changes, from anything from new sponsors, merc manufacturers, fan requests to even a merger.

You could have an overall pollof the best developed design. Start off with a paragraph brief from yourself, and the first round comes up with the best Home design (chosen from the poll). From here, the next round develops a clash guerney, and the next round has an Away and onwards. You may even throw in rounds for special jumpers/logos, like ANZAC, Heritage, monochromatic etc.

In the end, as a forum, weve created a whole teams identity for a few years (2016 season, 2017 season, 1994 season etc.) and we can have a champion of champions poll.

Seeing as this has been unstickied for some reason. Bump.


Also, I'd like to bump this idea (so like this post if you agree).

Basically, the person running the comp gives a very general brief detailing the backstory. The first round (Round 0) would run for a few days and is to create the team name. The winner of this is the name of the new BigFooty FGJD collaboration team. From here we design the home guernsey in round one, and the second round is the away, third is the clash and so on until we create an entire team identity including logo, guernseys, off field and on field attire etc.

This is something that can go on for as long as possible or until someone wants to create a new team. The idea is that we all develop a team based on what has come before.
