Our clubs (or is bolts?) strategy to continually play the young guys in the midfield when there are other options has to be questioned. Dow is a victim of the clubs situation. Lot to ask for a 19 year old ...losing week in week out...no surprise that his confidence might be down.

Could really do with a McLean type in the guts to take and give hits and free up the kids, even if that type of player has a down side to speed and agility. Just be a big bruiser body in the thick of it.

Walsh as well you can see is getting beaten up (and doesn’t shirk it at all). SPS gets beaten up and you can see he now shirks a bit of the contested situations for a bit of preservation. The bye week will be good for Walsh to be iced up and recover. Just need some mongrel in the clinches to offer some protection.

Bolton always said he wants the players to endure...they may be learning a lot in the meantime but bit unfair on them to take the body hits against seasoned bodies each week...can’t blame them for shirking.

Have a lot of time for Paddy. He's getting his hands on the ball a lot for a second year player, and those bursts from stoppages look awesome. However, it is extremely deflating (I'm sure for both players and supporters) when he burns the ball by foot like he has been. I'm confident he can tidy up this part of his game and become a real asset to the team. Agree with many that he needs to work on his defensive efforts. He's shown improvement, obviously will take some time and effort, but has the potential to develop in to a pretty damaging player.

Paddy Dow will be in the All-Australian argument as soon as next year.

Once he cleans up his possession there's going to be absolutely no stopping him.

A more talented and mature team after hitting the trade table hard for the right pieces will make a world of difference.

Agree but in the last 3 weeks his contested marking has been a real unexpected highlight for me, 3 in the last 3 weeks that have all set up shots on goal - unfortunately he kicked 0.1 from the two that resulted in him kicking at goal.
