Ok, I have bagged you, I have tipped you for the wooden spoon, and I do not like you at all. But, credit where credit is due. You have severely dented Essendon's bag of wind, and I love it.
We will hear how it is all practice match stuff, it was hot, they rested players etc etc, but at the end of the day you beat them and they would be full of it tonight if they had beaten you.
The only thing which would make me happier than correctly predicting you for the wooden spoon would be to see Essendon miss out on the Grand Final. Thanks Port, we are off to a good start.
(This probably qualifies me for a Dan24 Essendon Hater's award.)

Absolutely, CIK, WCE and co. Where are the Essendon fans, by the way? I'm not even sure how much they can excuse players being left out. I have Long (who was going to be out anyway), Hird, Fletcher, Heffernan, Wallis, Barnes, Robran, Lalich missing. I think that's right. It's not exactly what you'd call gutting the team, considering the calibre of the players still left. Against a team missing Burgoyne, Bond, Paxman, Lade, Lockwood and Stevens. Hird and co are going to be missed, but they're not going to explain a margin of 79 points. That's a shellacking. Can only assume Essendon weren't trying. Or they're crap. Would that be too much to ask for???

I don't believe you mentioned the umpiring either. Not up to Essendon's standard - not enough free kicks. Johnson is a bit firey, he should calm down or he will be reported.

If you look at all the 300 threads that have popped up in the last 24 hours about Essendons loss, you will not find anyone making excuses.

I find it amusing that Essendon is the centre of the universe, for all you opposition fans. Enjoy this while you can. I don't mind. I love to glaot in victory, so by all means.......take advantage of it.

No excuses. Port were too good. Too hard and skillful. They had a great night. They were too good "on the day".

But I also have a snekaing suspicion, that this could be one of the best things that could have happened to us! If there was an ideal time for a wake-up call, it is now, 4 weeks before the season starts!

For what it's worth I respect them, and I hope they play badly this year just like I hope 14 other teams do. I tried to make a quick point about the game which proved to exceed your tolerance level. I don't mind people having a go at our loss, it was the insinuation that because we didn't respond immediately to peoples posts, we were in hiding. Just to clear that up.
